Confused as the gap is still 1 lac.pl advise ,very urgent as seller is leaving country.

As a buyer, 4.5L is a very optimistic price to expect for a 1 year old car which has run only 5000km! I don't agree with the 'fair value' they have quoted. In fact it is highly impossible to get a 8.5L (otr price) vehicle for half the value - I doubt the owner will agree for selling it so low. 6L is still a superb bargain. I would go for it with eyes closed. 5000km is nothing, almost brand new :thumbs up

Bangalore price check - Ford Ikon 1.6 EXi (2005, ~50k kms, 1st owner), new alloys, tyres, decent music system with amp + comps + sub
What would be a decent price for this?
(Not putting words in your mouth by quoting what the seller is asking for :D )

BTW, why not a new 320d CE? BMW is offering heavy discounts on it currently.

Exactly what I was thinking. BTW can you give me an indication of how much the current discounts on the 320D CE are? A friend of mine is close to finalising on a new Accord. Maybe the CE will be a better option.

1.5L. I will not take the music system into consideration when assessing the value of a car. You can add 10k for that.

You seem to have forgotten that he has asked for Bangalore price. :deadhorse

It's a 2005 model. I remember my office colleague sold his 2003 ikon (90k Oddo reading) for 1.9L. That too because he had to leave for Canada. His asking price was 2.2L. So if you can clinch a deal anywhere from 1.8L to 2.1L, I think for a 2005 model it's a good deal (50k oddo reading in 6 years is a good thing).

It was about 24 when launched, and I guess you can get a 2l+ discount now since the FL is coming in a couple of months. If your friend is interested, Merc is giving higher discounts for C200 as compared to the discounts for CE.

EDIT:

Civic sports was a limited edition model by Honda. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-launched.html

The CE is around 27 OTR in Goa after discounts. Merc is around the same. 24 you mentioned is OTR or ex-showroom? I guess we need to visit these showrooms and show them this thread.

I am mentioning the ex-showroom prices since the OTR differs from place to place. I guess the OTR was somewhere between 28-29 here in Mumbai/Thane.

Agree with the music system bit, but even I, as a buyer, can see that that price is way too low!

Yup. Damn those bangalore prices :Frustrati
Thanks for your thoughts. I was thinking along similar lines. Owner's quoting 2.4L. Let's see how good my negotiation skills are :D

Yeah. Do negotiate. And one more plus point is that it's a single owner car. Happy negotiating! Keep us updated!

I'd stay away from heavily modded cars ; the quote for the year/model/make is ok though

He's also giving the original parts (lights, bumpers, seats & exhaust) with the car so it can be made stock again. In any case the car has actually run 71K Kms and has not been really cared for. I think I'll stay away.

^^ Seventyone k kms is nothing for a Japanese machine ; but a modded car like this would have been ripped apart ; hence makes little sense
