re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Hi BHPians,

Need your guidance on this. My friend has got an offer for a sparingly used Fabia at 4.9L.

Details below

Model - March -2011, Skoda fabia ambiente 1.2 MPI , petrol.
ODO - 3K (owner is in US and car has been literally grounded for 15 months)
colour: beige.
front power windows.
rear AC.

Extras done
front 2 airbags which costed 50k.
music system cost 19k (blue tooth, USB , CD player)

The total cost according to him was 6.9 including extras. Price wanted now 4.9L. The car looks brand new and the ODO figures are true as my friend knows the person.

Let me know if this is a good deal to go ahead.

Regards,
Dilip

Hence the above assumption.
Do keep in mind they would have bought it for 16, and tried to sell it for 22.

@akshay 1234 true, they would sell it thereon for anything upwards as any dealer would, however i still feel he should quote 16 odd for her, as these german beauties depreciate real fast.
My friend, decided to retain his car (as he wanted 20+) and didnt want to take that much of a hit.

Well off late Honda's resale prices have crashed and are not what most people think they are. The fuel pricing scenario along with the frequent model changes that Honda makes in the city sedan make sure that the prices in the used car market are not very encouraging. If you get anything close to 3L , I would suggest sell it off.

ps: This is according to the Delhi used car market. Prices in your city may vary.

Re: Preowned 530i

As the seller is a close buddy, you do not want to rub him the wrong way. So here is my advice. Ask him to enquire what price he will get at the local used car dealership. Obviously add a lakh to it.

And you have got yourself a deal and a beaming friend.

But if your friend didn't want to settle for less than 20 why would Kedars friend? Being his friend, no point in quoting something low, there is a chance of offending the friend too. Anything below 20 is a good price.

Ok I might get the deal closed at around 18L by today or tomorrow. The car is in mint condition and the owner has maintained it better than a Parsi. With complete service record and he had BSI ultimate for 5 years. The ODO reading is at 61,000kms.
Since BSI ultimate is expired today,I called Navnit and they have quoted BSI Ultimate @1,97,000rs for 3yrs/60,000kms.

I feel at this price+BSI Ultimate,I can have a total peace of mind for next three years, although my running would hardly be 10,000kms/year.
Please pour in your suggestions.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Dear BHPians,

After selling off my 10 year old Zen in December, am on the lookout for a new ride. Have spent agonizing amount of time thinking whether I should buy a new car or get a pre worshipped vehicle at half its cost.

For now, have decided to spend another month looking at used Honda cars - City or Civic alone.

Can BHPians help me with valuations for a Honda City or Civic in general? I will put specifics of deals as and when I get them and check here before finalizing on the deal.

For reference; am based in Kerala. Had a look at Mahindra First Choice's outlet in Cochin and there's a Civic on offer.

Model: Honda Civic 1.8V AT
Year: March, 2007
ODO: 55,000 kms
Color: Silver
No. of Owners: 2
Expected Price: 5,75,000
Over telephone, the dealer said the vehicle is accident free, no paint scratches and has entire service history.

Can BHPians help me out and say what price I should ask this for?

Definitely worth it, don't even think twice. This will make your ownership and driving experience totally worry free. Considering the 5 year BSI has expired I don't know if you are eligible for 3 more years, do please double check.

Can you find out the terms properly? Should be useful for others buying used Bimmers, because I thought that after the 5 years of BSI, they didn't offer anything. This just makes owning a BMW even better then.

Sure thing Akshay, have asked for a formal quote on my email. But she clearly specified that I can opt for BSI ultimate and everything except tyres and wheel alignment will be covered for free.
Can you throw some light on BSI ultimate?Have you opted for the same?
