If you are lucky you will get decent Altis also. Super reliable and long lasting make.

I think in Mumbai one can get late 2009 to early 2010 Civic ATs around the 7L range. You can also look at the old gen Laura AT if your monthly running is more. I know there are a lot of ifs and buts with a Skoda and a DSG at that but it is a good car and sells on the cheap in the resale market.

How much can I ask for my 2004 Accent CRDI which has run 110K Kms? Its in Kerala, single owned and regularly serviced. Obviously the age started showing up.

I am hitting a point where the decision has to be made whether to invest for beautification and retain it for another 2-3 years or dispose and invest in a low cost car which can run happily for next 5 years.

Hello Jacs,

You can expect approx Rs. 2 lacs for your 2004 Accent CRDI with 110,000 kms on ODO.

If the Car is currently in good condition, I will suggest to invest for beautification of the Car & retain it for another couple of years. Because any small Diesel Car will cost you more than Rs. 6+ lacs. Instead investing few thousand rupees in this car will be a better decision, in my opinion.

Thanks,

Thats a little too low. There are two of them in my family. Both manage 10-11 kmpl in Delhi traffic. I think a lot depends on the route you drive the car on.

Hi,

With the new CRV now being launched (and cheaper!), What price should I expect to pay for a 2-3 year old CRV with 20-30 k on the odometer? There are a couple of 2-4 year old CRVs around, all in the range of 14-15l through dealers. Is this the going market price for these? Is there a market for used CRVs at all?

Thanks!!

Will keep a look out for the Altis too. But it seems the Altis is holding on to its resale value much better than the Civic, taking it out of my budget. Plus automatic Altis are hard to come by in Mumbai.

Thanks. That's what I thought too and was looking out for the facelifted late '09 onward versions. But the sellers are listing higher prices online. Will have to do a lot more hunting offline.

Having driven a DSG I wouldn't mind stretching over a bit for a old Jetta or Laura. It's absolutely brilliant. But the high probability of failure looming after already being over budget isn't something that will let me sleep peacefully.

Guys,

There is a used October 2010 BMW 525d F10 model in the classifieds. The purchase price must have been about 45/46 OTR and he is asking for 36.25. What do you guys think should be a fair price for this car?

Thanks.

In 14-15 lac you can buy 2 used CRVs.
3-4 years old CRVs go for 7-10 lac depending upon condition.

Recent Example: check this post - A BHPian picked up a '09 CRV for 8.5 lac:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post3044222

Another friend of mine, in NCR, was offered a 2008 CRV for 7.5 lac not too long ago.

You can get a 2008/2009 Accord for less than 10 lac very easily too.

I'd say about Rs 450000/-

How's the service aspect of Hyundai? Our Verna is becoming very expensive to maintain. Hyundai have slowly moved away from low cost service and spare parts.

Hello jkrishnakj, from the prices I have seen recently in Bangalore, you should be able to get around 1.4L - 1.5L from a private buyer.

I dont think I'd pay more than 30-31lakhs for it. The brand new 520d was offered to me in Jan 2013 for 41lakhs OTR. So 36.25 is far too high for a 2year old car, even though it is a 525d.
