re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

What would be the fair price of a 2012 June Xylo E9 with 16000 km in Bangalore?
Present on road price is 11.3L before any discounts.

Buyer is an individual.

What is the worthiness of a 2009 Toyota Corolla Altis petrol (GL variant) done 68000 km?

The owner is quoting 6 lakhs, which sounds pretty high IMO. But when I checked the used corolla altis resale prices, they seem to be high everywhere. Is it really worth the premium - compared to the other petrol sedans.

If it an individual, then a fair price should be around 12-12.25L & if it's a dealer then around 12.75L.
As for issues of XUV, there have been reports of brake pads & ICE related issues. Do check for it.

This thread will help you:-http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...solutions.html

BTW, how much is seller quoting?

Varun
Thanks Varun,

Its through a dealer and he is quoting 12.50L negotiable. The total mileage of the car is 24k Kms and not 19k Kms as I mentioned earlier. I think 24k Kms for a late 2012 model is slightly on the higher side so a little skeptical about this deal

I finally settled on a 2011, 11k km covered alto k10 vxi from true value for 2.70 lakhs. Car is in good conditions and has a year of warranty left.
Is the price ok?

Thanks.

How much for a 2004 April Honda City CVT-

Car was smooth, tranny was smooth

1. Single Owner
2. 58k kms done
3. 2 tyres need replacement
4. Need to install music system
5. I'll replace all oils - Engine oil, tranny oil, steering oil, brake oil
6. I'll replace spark plugs and air filter

The dealer is quoting 1.95.

What is a good price?

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

A dealer friend of mine has shown me a 2005 Toyota camry.
Car details:
Automatic
# of owners: 2 (2nd one being dad of dealer). The 1st owner was director of a big manufacturing company and this was a company owned car.
65k kms done. The odo is clocked. It shows 48k. The friend told me all this. He even has the service documents to prove this.
Full service history is available.
The tyres have been replaced and done 8k.
I did a cold start. The car started good. No clatter.
The car picked up good from stop without any grunt. overall felt nice.
The interiors are good.
Felt nothing wrong about the car till now. Will get a mechanic friend tomorrow and find out more.

He's quoted 5.75L and can't negotiate much.
I feel it's a little bit on the higher side. Your comments please.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

2005 Camry's shouldn't go for anywhere above 3.75 - 4.25, being an 8 year old petrol car.

5.75 is way too high. There are examples on carwale quoting 4.5 types, but I'm sure they'll go for not more than 4.

Hello Yogesh!!
How are you pal?!
I see a VFM price of around 1.5-1.6L,including transfer charges. You immediate expenses are:-
2 tires - 10K's
Decent ICE - 10/12K's
Basic service - 10 to 15K's
This will bring your final price to around to 1.8-1.9L.

However I see a small hitch:-
You say that 2 tires needs replacing. An average life of a tire is around 40-45K's. So I'm assuming the car's running on it's second set of tires.

So why should 2 tires need to be replaced @ 58K's? Two possibilities that I see:-
- It can be a minor alignment issue or a major suspension job. Avoid the car if it's latter.
- This car might have it's odo tampered to show 58K's. Beware.

Either ways, check for full service history & keep an eye out for any abnormality. Honda service is not exactly cheap.

Regards,
Varun

Hello BW,
It's way overpriced, my friend!!!
I'm assuming that it's the 1st gen model that was launched in India by Toyota.
The car has done 65K's(which is not less) & has 2 previous owners, asking for 5.75L is absurd.

The max that I'm comfortable paying is around 3.25-3.5L, max 3.75L.

Varun

Hey Powertrain - I drove the vehicle and the suspension seemed to be smooth. There was no noise from Lower Arm bushings or even the struts.

Front 2 tyres are new. Rear two tyres are still the original 2004 make.

Not sure why only 2 were changed. But the service history is not available.

Even I felt the asking price is on higher side. I will let it go if the price doesn't come down.
Thanks Yogesh, Varun for your inputs.

Service history is completely not available? If the car had visited authorized showroom at least once a year record of the same will be available.

Edit: I guess dealer must have told that there is no record for the car, you can check the same in some authorized showroom to make sure that the car doesn't have any service record or if the dealer is try to hide something.

Hello BS76,
I'm not too aware of Bangalore prices, but I presume your friend can get around 4-4.25L if sold to a dealer & around 4.75-5L if sold to an individual. The acc. that you've mentioned will not not fetch extra,IMO.

Varun

Not sure which city but for Pune it should be in range of 3.75. Also need to consider if insurance has been renewed for this year and the condition of tyres. They may need replacement depending on make and use.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

4x4 Gypsy experts - need some help here. I have given up on buying the Gurkha due to dealer incompetence. Want to pick a Gypsy now. This will ofcourse not be the primary vehicle in the family.

Saw this in the classifieds section:

http://classifieds.team-bhp.com/buy-...ti/Gypsy.html/

A 97' 1.3 Carb Gypsy for 2.9L negotiable. Given below is the description from the seller. What is a good price to pick this up at? I have not yet contacted the seller for a test drive. Want to know the price I can quote if the test drive turns out good.

I know 2.9 is quite high and I think 2 - 2.25 at most would be a good price if the vehicle is really good and if he has really changed all those parts as he has mentioned. Advice needed please.

As listed by seller:
1) 97 Carb Model (Easier & cheaper to maintain than the MPFI )1.3 litre 5 speed gear box
2) KA Registration 2nd Owner (The first 2 owners are from Coorg)Done 40K as per the ODO reading..
3) Engine, Clutch, suspension, Gearbox (2&4 wheel drive) & electricals are in all good condition
4) Insurance valid until Feb 2014
Clean Body LineAccident FreeRust Free cause it’s been painted
It has a power steering fitted on to it
Brand new Tyres and Alloys
Other than the above mentioned accessories, I’ve spent over 40K on getting the car mechanically perfect. I’ve got all the Bills with me for reference. The Suspension is brand new- Leaf Springs, Shocks, bushes etc..All New Star Joints, water Pump, Servicing the power steering and doing up every other single technical aspect of the vehicle with only MGP parts.
