I have seen that Carwale quoting 8.5L for similar Scorpio and I can see ads with people quoting around 8.5L +/- in various places. I know these are just quoted prices and actual price would be different. But I would like to know, in reality how much can I expect? Location is Bangalore.
Can anyone please help me out here? What should be the price I can expect? Around 8.3 L be a good price from what I have seen in OLX/Carwale etc? Most of these sites having similar vehicle at 8.25-8.5L range..

If wishes were horses!! Quoted prices are very seldom the actual selling price, you can subtract a good figure from most of the quoted prices. Just yesterday I saw an ad for a 2013 RE Std UCE 350 on our classifieds that left me in splits!! The bike had some crazy addons like a 'trolley', fancy stickers, badges and some items 'that cannot be explained' but the craziest bit was the straight forward asking price of a mere 3,50,000 INR.

To gauge the market price, I would suggest getting the car inspected by a few car dealers in the city and then adding a price of 50K-75K if you find a private buyer.

EDIT: I found the ad still active, please have a good time reading through the description!!

8.5 L? Doesn't a new car cost around and 11-12 L? Correct me if I am wrong but I believe price should be atleast 1lakh lesser.

You could try getting it for about 4.9 ish, depending on how soon the current owner wants to sell his car. Do update us if you finally buy it and at what price.
Thanks friend (275BHP). I will update the details, if I finalize on the deal.

Hello Swapnil,

Though you have not mentioned the current ODO reading, but in general you can expect approx Rs. 5.5 lacs for your September 2010 Honda City V AT in Mumbai. Since you are second owner the valuation is on lower side.

Thanks,

Thanks,
@Jignesh,

Swapnil is the second owner and the car though with less mileage may not fetch 5.5 lacs. Optimistically, would be between 4.5-4.75l would be a fair price I guess.

BTW, many pre-owned car prospects prefer a "second" hand car than a third hand car. This is compounded by major user car dealers- Mahindra First Choice and many "True Value" outlets only dealing in single owner vehicles.

Will probably do like that this or coming weekend. I did ask for a used car price with few dealers and they are quoting 8.25-8.5L negotiable for a similar car.

I think new Scorpio on-road is around 12.1L in Bangalore. So you mean 1L less than 8.5L for 3 year old one? Bangalore prices are normally on higher side but will still ask around like Roomy suggested and price it accordingly.

Thanks & Regards,

But Swapnil, why are you the second owner in such a low mileage and why are selling the car ?

What is the price quoted? The i20 is heavily discounted at the moment. It is out of production/almost out of production and the new model is going to be launched in a couple of months now. You could use this as leverage and why not inquire about a new i20 diesel too(current gen)?

The car is listed on our classified section only. The price being quoted is insane. Anyways I am not interested if the car doesn't come with airbags and ABS. I thought the (O) meant that they added the safety features to the car.
