55-70 grand should be the realistic expectation. That's a very good price for a 21 year old car!
1.xx lakhs may seem valid from the seller's point of view, but that's plain unrealistic.

As you haven't got any response and obviously so as it is not easy to just guess the right price of a car, model, year, city being variables, have you tried carwale/teambhp old car price calculators?

Not sure about coimbatore. However in delhi you will have to pay approx 5.5 lacs for the same car.

Car wale price calculator for used car as a seller is good. But its a dream price, hardly u get anywhere close to that price in real market when u actually sell the car. Its good for confidence booster, but  doesn't work in the market. /tried to sell 3 different cars, and always got the price atleast a lakh lesser.
Guys, need 2 checks pls...
1. Verna 2013 AT 1.6 D, 30000 kms
2. City 2013 AT Petrol, 40000 kms
Both decently maintained, though the Verna has a small patch of rust (been told , havent seen it myself)
I am looking to buy a 2011 first owner Honda Accord AT with about 40k on the odo and a complete service record in Delhi. What is the price range for such a car? The owner is asking for Rs.11L, which seemed way too high for a 5yr old Accord to me.

Around 8.5 Lac should be fine. Stretch till 9 Lac if the condition is top notch. Remember that Accords aren't in demand in used market due to the sheer size and running costs, and negotiate accordingly.
In Delhi, I have seen 2013 Accords go for ~12.5 Lacs, so 11 Lac is definitely not the right price.
Hi guys, i am going to see a pre owned Thar CRDe 2015 model with less than 1000 kms on ODO for 8 lakhs, i seek your help on what things i need to check in the car before taking a buying decision and what things i should be careful of.
(I have no prior experience in 4x4 s)
I am considering buying a Ford Classic 1.4 TDCi Duratorq from my colleague's friend who is asking 4.35 lakhs for it. It's Nov 2012 make, biege color, registered in Feb 2013. CLXi variant. 26000 kms done so far. The person who is selling it to me says he bought the car from the first owner around 6 months ago used for 10000 kms and is now selling it. However, the car's registration is still in first owner's name and i will be the second owner according to RTA records. Condition seems very good without any scratches and dents. I will get the history checked today from Ford and the seller is also insisting on getting the car checked from Ford and my mechanic as well to instill confidence. He says he is quoting a premium because the car is well maintained. However, used car price check from various sources are also quoting around 4 and carwale has quoted me 5.35 lacs.
The papers seem clean to me. The loan on the car was closed on 19 Jan 2016 by the first owner and there's a NOC from the bank. I feel the seller might have bought it at a lesser price a month ago and is now trying to make a quick buck off it. The story that he bought 6 months ago seems untrue to me. He probably did not want to come across as a dealer. But, he did not come across as a seasoned used car seller also considering how naive his talk was about this car and other cars in general. He seemed poor at bargaining skills too. On inquiring i found he works for Honda 2 wheelers. I don't know in what capacity.
I have quoted 4 and him 4.35. Looks like we can close somewhere in between.
What are your recommendations?
Update - My gut feel was true. The person selling it to me bought it from the owner and is trying to make a quick buck. Original owner left to US on 23 Jan and sold it to this person on 19 Jan. Got to know from Ford that the last service was done at 24000 kms by the original owner. From the neighbors of first owner got to know that the car was very well kept and he was a family man.
I have no apprehensions about the condition of the car. Just want to know am i paying the right price?

Price seems to be fair, if I go by carwale valuation, which is throwing up upwards of 5L. Ive found Carwale to be good for a ballpark previously, and going by this, youre getting a good deal.
I would suggest a checkup of the car at ford, paid check up. It will be money well spent. If all is well, this a good car. And a good price. If he negotiates, even better.
Being offered 1,50,000 - 1,60,000 for my September 2004 Corolla (H5). I would be happy if I got 1,80,000. The buyer drove the car and loved it.
The buyer will need to change the tyres and he wants to upgrade the music system (HU + Speakers). The additional expenses would probably work out to around 50,000 - 60,000. So net 2,40,000 spent by the buyer; and he gets a well maintained, fully loaded car.
Do you think these numbers are reasonable and fair? Should I sell it at his price or ask for my price?

What's the odo count? I feel even 1.8l is a bit lower, if the overall condition is good. Guess you can try to sell it up to 2 l. My suggestion would be to check for some more options. Also what you could do is to check with any pre owned car dealers for a quote. Generally directly selling to individual would be more than what dealers quote.
At least in Bangalore this model would easily go for 2 l.
