BHPian ![]() | ![]() Guys, a quick check. I am looking at a Ford Fiesta petrol and shortlisted a 2007 (November) Fiesta 1.6 Zxi. But upon checking on the net, I see that the Fiesta 1.6 was launched only on June 2008 (http://www.india.ford.com/servlet/Co...=1178842160668) So is the car i am looking at really a 1.4 ZXI? One way is to look in to the RC book straight or ask the owner, but is there any other way to ascertain the difference between the 1.6 and 1.4? Info on the 1.4 Zxi (http://www.india.ford.com/servlet/Co...=1163397712370) |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() There's some confusion here. The 1.6 had been around before 2008. Mine is 2006. You're a buyer, you can ask to see the rc. I don't think you'll spot any cosmetic difference. However, if you've driven a 1600 before, you'll know off the bat. Last edited by mayankk : 25th May 2016 at 21:10. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Maybe yours is the 1.6 Sxi? Coz the 1.6 Sxi has been there from the beginning, the 1.6 Zxi was a new entrant in 2008 (at least the press report from ford says that) |

I have been looking at the engine bay photos of both engines, and I cant find a spottable difference. However, I don't know if this is true, when I painted the shrouds on my headlights black, someone mentioned on my thread that I have made it into a 1.4. I dont know if this entirely true, and someone can respond here. (Doesn't sound to be, to me)

| ![]() Hey guys, I'm sure before buying a pre owned car we all keep the Team BHP's checklist. If not I urge you to do so. Here's my latest story that really took away my happiness of owning a Civic. 3 years ago I purchased this car from a Doctor who spoke in a very disciplined manner. He was so down to earth that me nor my dad failed to give even a mild second thought. The RC book has this "Hypothicated to HDFC bank" thing. The Doctor mentioned that he might have the NOC and duplicate key and will give it in a couple of days. Its been 3 years until now. The guy never responds well and is not offering any support to get the NOC. Without it there's no chance of ownership transfer. It's been 3 long years and I couldn't sell the car as well. This Doctor is a Senior person in a reputed hospital. Whenever I ask him he says he doesn't have any details related to the loan. I went to HDFC bank and they are saying that without loan account number they can't check if the loan was closed. They searched for the vehicle number but couldn't trace in their database. I wish none of you face this problem of buying a used car without proper documentation ever again eventhough the seller is of noble profession. I'm now helpless! Will law be able to help? Please advice. |

| ![]() I am afraid that there could be something more to this than what meets the eyes. If the doctor is the actual owner of the car and had actually cleared the loan at the time of handing over the car to you, then I can't think of a reason as to why he would not provide you the NOC. By not providing the NOC he is putting himself in a risky situation. In your case there could be a possibility of the loan still being pending on the car, owner may have used the money elsewhere and may or may not be paying the EMIs at present. I think the only way to avoid this kind of situation in case of a hypothecated car is to issue a Demand Draft in favour of the bank, that way you will know that the money has not been used for any other purpose and once loan is cleared, the owner will definitely provide you the NOC and from here on the transfer process is smooth, he just needs to turn up at the RTO once for signature. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I bought a 2011 WR VXi, 14500 kms run, in 2013 (less than 2.5 years old) and paid 2.3L for it. The car had a few scratches here and there, but it was mechanically sound. If the said car is in the best of conditions, you should be paying upto 2.75 (assuming MH has higher road taxes than OD). |

| ![]() Hi Turbanator. The owner is a dear friend and it has a timely service record. The vehicle is in good condition just a couple of minor scratches on the front bumper. Any particular reason to stay away from this model? |

| ![]() What price can I expect for a 2011 Nov fiesta classic done 95xxx km in Trivandrum? The car is in good condition except for some starches on bumpers. Battery is new and under warranty and tires will have around 15-20k km left in it. Thinking of exchanging the car or selling to a dealer to avoid hassles of selling directly. Need to make a decision fast, quick responses will be of great help. Last edited by y448 : 1st June 2016 at 00:54. |

| ![]() Hello guys, Need advice on the following. Thanks. I might be able to get a Honda CRV 2011 2.4 AT at 8.5L. It has run just under 28k Kms. Actually my wife works in a bank and the owner has defaulted and the bank is selling it. That's what she said. My queries before I go and check out the car: 1. Is the price right (its a first hand car) 2. Where can I get a brochure or the spec list of this specific car 3. What should I do when I evaluate the car. Sort of confused because I was in the market for a new car and this opportunity comes about. What specific points to keep in mind. |

Honda's are generally maintenance free but one thing you need to consider for sure is that the in city mileage for the CRV is about 4-6 kmpl if I am not wrong
