Thanks a lot. I am thinking of replacing this with an automatic version. But, from your reply, i understand that the value is more to me.

I wouldn't discourage you, but I wouldn't trust a new Safari over a used Fortuner. So far as depreciation, a 3 year old Fortuner is the best bet. And a long-term car for you.

Polo never had a 1.6L petrol engine in India.

If it is a diesel Tdi engine, then it is most probably a 1.2L engine and not 1.6L. The 1.6L Tdi engine was available only in the GT variant which was in production only from late 2013.

The 1.2L 3-cylinder diesel engine is now obsolete. If you are still interested, please reconsider the availability of spares and negotiate hard. Anything around 3.6-3.7L is ideal with a buffer of Rs.30-40k for any unforeseen repairs.

Polo 1.6 petrol was definitely part of the VW portfolio in India. Featured the same 1.6 NA petrol MFI engine making 104 ps that the petrol Vento used. Since the 1.2 3-pot was a dud engine, I suppose the Polo 1.6 had a bit of a halo factor as a "hot" hatch. Don't see too many of them though and now of course it is replaced by the GT twins.

Check classifieds- you may find a good bargain.

We have NOT Test driven yet. Just seen.
Way too high, I was getting a 5 yr old well maintained Diesel AT Laura Elegance done 35k kms, for 5.5L ( road tax was due to expire in a couple of months)
I drove it around for 20 odd kms as well.
You should buy a Laura only if you get it cheap, not worth the headache of parts/service otherwise.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Need some help. Looking to sell my Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 Base - Cashmere colour.
Manufacture & Registration: June 2006
Kms - 65,000
Gurgaon Registered. Insurance till June 2017, new tires and battery.

How much can I ask for it? I know it's going to go for peanuts being a Chevrolet, but wondering how many peanuts..

I am waiting for a dealer to get back to me with an offer. Carwale Valuation shows 1.4L while team-bhp' valuator shows 55-65k, while similar cars are listed on online classfieds for 90k-100k. What is a realistic ask price?

Thanks in advance!

A realistic price is somewhere between the tbhp estimate and the carwale one I would say.

At this price point just hand the car off to someone who is a good friend and will take care of it, if you feel that strongly about it

Very light use for such an old car

Hello Tbhpians,

I was always interested in owning a Chevy Cruze LTZ from a long time. I checked out the new vehicle and the CSD price for the car onroad would be approximately 15.5 to 16L. I am interested in buying a used car and the used car price calculator shows a 2012 Cruze LTZ can be bought at 8Lakhs approx. and a 2013 one for around 9L. However the market outside is commanding a hefty price for these. The minimum price for cruze is about upwards of 10L.
What do you guys suggest? I am planning to wait and watch for a good deal if I can get any as there are very few cars up for sale with odo reading below 40K km.

I feel thats expensive. 3.5 to 3.8 lakhs would be apt but if the vehicle has extensive modifications then the price would be a little higher.
