How much should I expect for a 17000kms run 2013 wagon r vxi? The vehical is in good condition with full service history.
Tbhp makes the Mint. As does gto's spreadsheet on keeping an old car vs buying another
In a hilarious article that is basically about human stupidity (the sort where a perfectly good older car that's a drivers dream might get sold - and your name might end up removed from do not call lists after providing your phone number to some car comparison portals so you get buried in calls from finance companies etc)

Dear All,
Need your help.
How much should I pay for a 2011 Honda Civic V-AT with sunroof done 30,000 kms. The car is in decent condition.
I'm about to finalise the deal.
Best,
Enigmatic
Is there any point looking at +70k run 3.2 A4s? And how much should one pay for one?
Also, there are some 2011 3.6 Phaetons on the market, are they a good idea?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
what would be the ideal price for a 2006 Corolla with Automatic transmission and got 65k on ODO. Car has two owners on paper but used by a single user.
Also how much extra cash should i keep for immediate repairs/replacements and can we keep this car for another 5 years?
Thanks,
Manjunath

I bought a very well maintained (with some minor dents) 2006 Corolla H5 1.8E MT last year with 45k on ODO for 3.1 lakhs, which also had two owners on paper and used by one person. I guess price should not be more than 3 lakhs considering it is 10 years vehicle (note that pre-owned cars in Bangalore costs more than other cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta & Chennai).
You need to check on following to know the immediate expenses if any:
- Tyre condition - Could cost around 18k to replace
- Battery condition - Could cost 3k or so to replace
- Insurance renewal period
- Due time for annual service (1 year or 10k KM, whichever is earlier) - My 10 year & 60K service costed 6k (with synthetic oil) last month
Apart from these obvious things, get it checked by your known FNG or Toyota ASC for things like, suspension and other mechanical stuff.

Guys, while discussing I am offered a Tata Aria Jan 2012 registered (5 years old now) for 4.2 Lakhs, is it a good deal? How reliable Aria is?
Driven and used by a single owner.
Your inputs will be welcome.
thank you @KK_HakunaMatata
Should i also need to worry about suspension, brake related parts and all? since its 10 years old vehicle and 65k driven.
Btw, did you get your H5 serviced at Toyota or at an external service center?
thanks,
Manjunath

It depends on how the vehicle was driven and in what road conditions. It is always better to get it checked by your trusted mechanic once.
I have not faced any suspension or break related problems, as the vehicle was driven mostly in the city.

Toyota service, be it Nandi or Ravindu is quite good in Bangalore. I get it serviced from Nandi Toyota, Kanakapura road.

Aria is a very confortable and decently reliable car.
The price at which it is being sold is quite low and chances are it must be the "Pure" variant which is the base.
A lot depends on how much is on the ODO.
You do not want to buy a Tata with more than a lakh on the ODO.

Just why didn't that car sell far far more than it has sold, beats me.
How is parts availability for it? I hardly ever see one on the roads so I am not sure if dealerships or Tata parts dealers retain stocks or will have to order for it if something is required.
I'm looking to buy one myself but am in two minds about tried and tested (Innova) or this - which is a bit more expensive but has features that are at least two car classes ahead.

Yes you are right it's Aria Pure which is the base variant, is it worth it to buy at this price ?

A new Aria, on road, is around 14.7 lakhs in Chennai. So around 4 lakhs is a reasonable price for a reasonably used car. How many miles has it done?

Thanks it has close to 85000 Kms on the ODO.
Does Aria Pure have Airbags? Online i can see none, will this be an issue?
Also do the seats fold on Pure version to make it flat?

There is a service provider "KK Travels" in Pune.
The only service that it provides is pick up people from their respective locations in Pune and drop them at Mumbai Airport. It is quite popular and is used extensively by people.
Its entire fleet is Aria and they would all have done lakhs in kms. So it is reliable, no doubt. It has their tried and tested engine and it is also far more comfortable than the trusted Innova. What it lacks is confidence, and also the initial batches had quite some niggles.
My advice: Wait for a year or so before putting money on new cars from Indian manufacturers.
