Used ford fiesta 2007 Diesel should I go for it??

Hi Guys,

Getting a Ford fiesta ZXI Diesel for 3.5 Lacs, car has done 62000 kms. No visible scratches or Accidental scars.

checked prices on carwale'sused car price section for the cars available for sale, but got confused since prices are usually hyped hence could not make up my mind.

Car also is haryana registration which should not be a problem since I live in Gurgaon.

Is it worth the Gamble?? and also what is the procedure for fresh registration/ changing the no. of a used car ??

Thanks in Advance.

regards,

Manu

3.5 lacs for a 2007 model diesel - seems good price

IMO, Inter state transfers will have lengthy proceedure.
one need to get NOC from the original RTO where the car is registered
and to get the NOC need to get Police verification etc-
sometime it may take 3/4 months

Transfer within the state /same RTO is simple - just apply for the transfer in prescribed form with address proof/identy card etc and may be within a month time the car will be transferred in new name. In this case the car number will remain same.

Its a great price. Last month i sold my two years old Fiesta D ZXI for 5.55L. It was in excellent condition though. Only problem i found was the suspension. Check thoroughly before getting it. Fiesta has a weak suspension.

In Kerala, a 2006 Fiesta diesel would go for around 3.8L. Again, a lot depends on the RTO taxes and all. So prices may vary from state to state.

Thanks man, see the car is actual from a stock yard of a finance company hence available at this price. issues is the car will be gamble cause it will be on "as is where is basis". Although I have got some really reliable people involved in the process but still bit apprehencive.

although it is same state no. because this car belonged to somebody and has been snatched away from him and dont want to cross him anyways ..so I want to change the no.

I am not sure, if it is possible to change Registration number once allotted when transferring the car within the same state/RTO. The Registrarion numbers are being allotted against the chasis/engine number of a car and I dont know if they can allot another number for the same chasis/engine number (if this practise prevails the stolen cars can be re-registered with some fake documents and get the number changed ?)- Ofcourse this is my doubt, and you may get different opinions from other members.
Thanks

Hi ,

Need approximate price quote :

Pajero : 1996 / 1.8 GLX model / 90000Kms / Condition good
Safari EX : 2004 / TCIC / 1.8L Kms / Condition fair

Dealer quotes

Pajero : 12L
Safari : 4L

I know what dealer quotes is ridiculous but still I wanted to know how much will the cars actually cost as of today ?

Single hand driven car although he is the second owner on records (company transfer case) 60kkm service is done recently. The final price quoted by the owner is 5.7lacs

My questions are:
1. Is the price OK! the car is registered in jan2004 (dont know if i can say that the car model is 2003 or 2004)

2. What expenses can i expect in near future! considering that fact that it has run more than 60kkm and nothing except tyres has been changed so far! Can any one tell me the average life of various equipments in accord (suspension/clutch plates/brake pads etc.) and there cost.

3. Is Nov/Dec a good period to buy a second hand car! Or should i wait till next year (as the price will reduce further of the same year model)

4. while driving the car, I found the clutch very hard. I was told by the owner that the clutch of accord is like this only. Is it ok, or it needs replacement!

Thanks in advance for your expert comments.

Best Regards
Gaurav

It would be better to take a reliable mechanic with you and inspect the car. It would be difficult to say something blindly.

HOwever there are chances clutch need, brake pads, battery, may be timing belt after some KMs.
