Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

What is best price that can be negotiated for a white i20, magna, 2014 model?
It has run 17k and sits for months at a time. Cracked front windshield and small dings all over the car.

Owner asking for 4L. I am thinking of a counter offer at 3.25L.

yay or nay?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

XUV500 diesel manual, 2014 model with 54k on the odo, very good condition (apparently), purple color, W6 trim? I have to double check that.
Priced: 8l

Scorpio, 2016 in similar condition 2016, diesel S6, 8l.

(Both of these are from within friends and family)

I have lost touch with the Indian market in last 10 years. I am seeing XUV500 prices all over the place from 8l to14l on internet. May be I am checking at the wrong place too. I don't want to buy from a dealer. A private party is preferable.

(If anyone has different ideas, you could also PM me on other suggestions in this budget for a rugged vehicle. Thanks! )

Why waste your money when there are far cleaner i20s available?

The Scorpio is a mid range model as is the XUV, but one is a ladder on frame old fashioned SUV whereas the other is a monocoque construction, more car like. Same gem of an mHawk engine with the Scorpio's having a slightly lower power output. Drive both, see what you like and decide.

Given the current market condition, the dealer quotes will be around 50% of the then OTR price. I would suggest to hold on if you can till the situation is normal and traffic is back to its peak, and people start their hunt for automatic cars.

For a car with that low mileage, even the tyres would mostly require replacement as they would have developed cracks. Please do factor in that expense also. It's a yay, if you can live with the cracked windshield and other dings and all other expenses included at 3.5L.

Usually, the XUV's and Scorpios have a high mileage, beware of tampered odometers. It's usually the W8 versions that retail around 8L of the same vintage, so the W6 should be much lower priced.

Excellent and thanks! Are those prices okay? Both vehicles seem in okay condition with no apparent accident history and are in Pune. Any comments on ruggedness/build/longevity between the two? These cars will be living hard life on broken/non-existent roads

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Guys, what would be the right price for this 2018 Tata Hexa XT 4X2 https://www.olx.in/item/tata-hexa-20...iid-1590307814

I am just chatting with the owner on OLX and havenot met him or seen the car yet. Was able to confirm with Vahan search the name of the owner in RC and name of the person in OLX are the same. A ball park figure would help me decide to shut up or put up.

Regards
Dev

From the looks of it, seems to be a genuine seller and has maintained it well. But, still you will have to knock at least 30% off from the then OTR price.

Is it an Elite i20 or the older gen? From the quoted price, I presume it to be the Elite because older gen usually goes for around 2.5 lakhs. 3.25 lakhs shall be a good final price for the car but it's still a no from my side. Why? Because Magna misses out on ABS and airbags. Either search for a higher trim or some other car that has at least front airbags and ABS.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Any idea what a 2014 Ecosport Titanium DCT (the top variant) with around 50 K in the odo would fetch? Am toying with the idea of selling it but am a bit confused at the huge price differences seen in valuation sites. I think prices here would be lower than Bangalore for sure.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi fellow TBHPians,

I'm in the market for a new car (still nervous given the macro scenario) so wanted your advise on how much should I sell my old Rapid for. The car details are as below:

Model: Skoda Rapid MT 1.5 Elegance Black Package (diesel)
Service History: All services done by Skoda ASS, except the one I did a month ago (with GoMechanic)
ODO: 25K
Registration: Jan 2015, First Owner
Condition: Good, Interiors like new. Upgraded the HU to RCD 330G.

I will be grateful for any feedback.

Been using the same car for 5 years now, also I need an Automatic Transmission. Driving a manual is becoming a pain for me - I had a ligament tear in my left ankle a few years ago. Using the clutch in Mumbai traffic becomes a real pain because of this.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

This doesn't look like a car that you should sell.

People like you are a gift for quite a few people on this thread I must say

Keep the car till it hits a lakh km or more, the MT is bulletproof unlike the DSG in VW Skoda cars and the car build quality is great. If you are getting tired with it, spend on some detailing and expensive floor mats for example.
