Now, you are talking. If at all you buy a Baleno, treat its front like family heirloom - most of the costly SGP stuff sit there. I know from experience that there will be times when you would feel like nudging the nosy biker who flits in and out or the usual Chennai auto-kaaran, but have patience because he will get away with a few hundreds worth of repair, while the SGP headlamps or bumper would cost you dearly.

Ofcourse, this should not deter you from learning how to slightly nudge the pesky 3-wheelers so that they do a little dance on 2 wheels and then come back to earth - if done well, all this will leave is a spot of yellow paint on your front bumpers. I have learned to live with a spot of yellow on my bumpers.

Hello BHPians,

Greetings!

I am am from Chennai and I drive a Jan 2003 model second onwer palio 1.2 elx petrol - ferrari red in color, which has clocked about 58000 kms. About 5000 kms back I had changed the stock bridgestone tyre's to another new set of the same specs. The car is in a neat and immaculate conditions except for a few scratches here and there. I am planning to sell this car to buy another palio which is a mid 2008 - chennai registered model multijet SDx top end - black in color, and clocked about 24000 kms and in an immaculate condition.

I have spotted this palio multijet car at a used car dealership and he is quoting 4 lacs price and ready to negotiate on the price.

My questions are:

1) What s the best price I can expect from my used palio 1.2 elx?
2) what is the best price I can negotiate to buy the Palio multijet?

Looking forward to your opinions and suggestions.

Kindest regards,

Tanveer

Tanveer,
1) 2003 Limited edition yellow color was running for 2.35 L (dealer) in mid 2007. I'd be happy if I get 1.5 L for your car.

2) Grab the diesel for 3L. Period. Palios don't have the best resale.
I still feel I have quoted on the higher side though.

Thanks Prince for your reply.

The Multijet Palio was sold for 3.75 lakhs!

Has FIAT stopped production of Multijet Palios?

Cheers!

I wouldnt have taken the multijet at that price. But the vehicle seemed to me well maintained and in good condition. Are there any new Paliio multijets available from the TATA Fiat Showrooms? If so then which is a better buy - the Paliuo multijet or the Vista quadrajet?

Cheers!

Rather than going top Palio as @Prince told. It would be better if you go to Vista Quadrajet. It is amazing and has a very good VFM IMO

I guess you should get one at about 50-60k in the used market. Getting a sierra is difficult, and a well maintained one is almost impossible IMHO.

Just checked carwale, there is one for sale at 85k in B'lore. But since it's a 15 year old model, I hope your friend has a deep pocket.

Tata Sierra 2000 model with 70k on the odo will be around 70-80k and 2002 model with 70k on the odo will be around 1.1L- 1-2L and another 10K extra if it is in mint condition. After 2002 this car was not manufactured IMO. But the price as per me is as above.

Doc,if the car is in good condition then IMO you can give upto 2.3L to 2.4L and if you know the seller in person then another 10K max. Happy buying and let us know what happened to it finally
