What would be the genuine price for a 9 month old (Nov 2009) Alto LXi done 5000 kms, Delhi? I haven't seen the car personally yet. It has a 'JBC' Stereo System (Dunno if it should be JVC or JBL).

With the introduction of the new Alto K10, I am unsure what would be the added depreciation on this model since a better model is now available. Car wale quotes a value of 2.22L/2.15L for a car in Excellent/Good condition.

Yes you can ask the selling price as well.

The price for the car you mentioned could be anywhere from 1L to 1.20l in Delhi, depending on the condition.

High mileage and 2 owners would be 2 factors working against you. Hence 90k-1.2L would be my guesstimate.

Try talking to the dealers in your area posing as a buyer to find out the approx value. Subtract atleast 10k from it to achieve a figure which would be close to reality.

7 months ago my friend bought Getz CRDI for ~5.6 lacs OTR in Bangalore. Hyundai gave almost 1lac discount just before the production was stopped and I20 was launched.

So 5L for 2 year old car is no way justified. I think you should calculate about 40-50% depeciation on the OTR price of the car. In my personal opinion, i wont put more than 4L max on this car.

Also remember that while this car is a pure pocket rocket, it does suffer from a lack of abs and high speed handling ain't that great either.
Tires wear out quite fast as well.

All these points should work out in your favor and use them to get a good bargain.
