I would have gone for Option 1. By the way have you come across any good Civics with Manual Transmission in Mumbai. I'm looking out for one.

I am looking for A/T's and hence its a bit difficult to find them. There area good number of M/T's in the Mumbai market. Be careful when you buy from dealers though.

I know, not many cars available from owners directly. Let me know if you come across any good M/T

Plan to close on one of these today/tomorrow. Can anyone let me know from where I can procure the list of documents which need to be signed on by the buyer and seller. The seller is leaving town soon and I don't want to leave any form unfilled.

Folks - One of my friends is planning to sell his Petrol Verna Top end. Its a Mar 2009 make with only 15k mileage. The car is in excellent condition. What should be the asking price for the vehicle?

Found this from our classifieds section.
2009 VW Jetta

Is this the market price in Mumbai?

I am sure there is a 1 missing. No way it can be 3.45L for a 2 year old car.

^^ That ad looks shady to me. Even if you add a 1 to the price I do not think anybody will pay 13.5l for a 2 year old (and now outdated) petrol Jetta. Contact details are kept to a bare minimum. Apart from that insurance says - comprehensive till Sep-2013. Unless I am missing something no insurer provides 3 year term for a policy.

OT: ethanhunt123 - time to change your avatar pic - either the shirt or the person

Read in another thread that this ad is a fraud.

Anything around (preferably slightly upwards of) 6L would be a fair price to expect for a 2009 verna vtvt topend with 15k on the odo and single owner.

@etanhunt123
OT: I know. Being one this year is gonna be painful though. I am praying they at least stay in the CL spots but something tells me that even hoping that is too much.

Ford Ikon: Wise Choice or Folly?

I am currently eyeing a Ford Ikon (one of two, actually). There's a known one, there's an unknown one. The known one is a 3rd owner, 1.6 NXT, the unknown one is single owner, well maintained but no idea if it's 1.3 or 1.6, or earlier model or Flair. The asking price for both is in the range of 1L. Both cars have clocked approximately 60k.

I am now thinking of going for a used sedan which can munch miles a little faster and better than my Santro and will accomodate occasional luggage that the hatch cannot. Haven't yet decided on the Santro, but I don't mind keeping it around for another three to four years. So this will mostly be out of my pocket.

Coming to the questions: Is 1L or thereabouts a right price for a 3rd owner car? What would be the typical maintenance costs for the Ikon? I have been reading up on Ford having made the spares cheaper, but is it also true for the 6-7 years old Ikons? Any particular things to watch out for?

I am going through the reviews on MouthShut, and one of the reviews mentions that the camber is fixed on this car, and if it is screwed up you have to replace the shocks. Is that true? Are there any other similar whims and fancies of this car?

Are aftermarket spares available in the market?
