@Gautam - one-77 is correct. This is the older Fiesta. I do want to sell but have a lease to transfer first. We can take the PM route if the mods and forum rules do not object to it.

That is one hell of a deal especially coming from True Value. Why did the Insurance lapse ? Please check the vehicle history and the claims history.

The insurance didn't lapse. The previous owner used his no claim bonus on this car for the new SX4 he bought.

I already got a price of around 1.9L on the car.

Already have a Swift VDi and Accent Viva petrol in the house apart from santro. Want to dispose off the santro and go in for a good condition car. Also this car is only needed for next 1.5years -2 years.

Thanks in advance.
Are there any specific reasons to replace Santro?

you can get a good condition Swift Vxi in your budget.
you may also look at buying a new K10.
2007-2008 Hyundai i10 shall cost close to 3 Lac.
2010/2011 AStar is also in your budget.

another very good alternative could be:
look for a 2004/05/06 Honda City Automatic; you shall be able to get it for less than 3 Lac

For people in the market for a used Accord:

A close friend bought a 2007 model 2.4 manual with 58k on the odo for 5.25L. Haryana registration. Car had new tyres (less than 2k kms old) and insurance till July. Front suspension and all brake pads needed replacement - all replaced and car serviced for 25k. Total cost 5.5L.

Hi guys,

Just got a call from Maruti true value guy, offering me a 2009 Swift Vdi, 69000 kms done, for 4.5 lacs. Is the price ok?

Car is fitted with alloys. I am going to check the car personally tomorrow. Will update then.

Thanks.

Thanks Pancham, skdking, KMohanan.
I had requested the owner to rethink on the price, so as of now, that car is given a miss :(

GTO has spoiled us with the brilliant pre-workshipped Civic thread and I madly want one , the only reason for suppresing the desire to go for a new City instead.

Nope the price is not ok. I think 4L would be good since its a diesel. But still the car has done 69K. Best of luck. Plus if you dont like the alloys you can throw in a tantrum saying that you gotta change the wheels and hence ask for more discounts.

@ Pancham, thanks for the reply pal, is it advisable to let go of warranty and free services and ask for more discount? I have a friend (BHPian) who own a car work shop, so don't really need the free services.

I guess I can get better deals for diesel figo or ritz than this. let's see.

Hi,
I got another offer, its a 2010 Dec Honda Civic VAT with 15k on odo.
The person is asking for 9 lakhs.
Checked the car and it looks ok, but has minor scratches on some parts of the bumper and the interior door handling parts, other than that, everything looks clean Need to take the test drive tomorrow. The car also has mapmyIndia navigation system and reverse camera done.
Can you please advice on how to view this deal?

Seems a much better deal. Just over a year old and very low mileage. Maybe you could start negotiating from 7 lac upward and settle for around 8?
Some minor repair and detailing, and it'd be hard to tell if the car is pre-owned.

A friend with a car work shop!! What can be better than that.
I guess you can let go off the free service but do take the warranty.
P.S: I guess Swift Vdi is far far far more fun to drive than a figo or a Ritz.

That looks a like a good car. But yes dont forget to negotiate. Squeeze out whatever you can. Do get the ODO checked from an auth. service center. 2010 CIVIC is as good as new.

Reasons NOT to buy this used Civic in Hyderabad...

All,

I need your thoughts and suggestions in making this decision:

I am being offered a late 2009 Civic VMT for about 8 lacs (about 1 lac less than Carwale). It is a very very tempting offer. However, I just wanted to hear from the devils advocates to stay away from the deal. Here are few more details about the deal and my current situation

1. This will become my primary car
2. My weekly commute is not more than 150-200 kms
3. Current mileage is claimed at 12-13 kmpl
4. The car seems to be extremely well maintained
5. It will be on my company's name, so accountant says that he can get the tax break on the depreciation, as well as all maintenance (service/insurance/fuel)
6. If I get this car, I might be tempted to go for long drives with family once every 2 months (have a 2 yr old now)

Please chip in with your thoughts on my situation...

Oh pancham, just when I was going to drift away from swift, your P.S. draw me back to it. I have noticed this happened several times, the moment I start thinking about other cars, something gets me back to swift. May be divine forces want me to go for swift only.
