Are you sure?? Or is it a special edition diesel version of i10 manufactured in Germany. Just kidding brother but 4.5-4.8L is too high.

Hi guys,
Checked out a Sep2011 Chennai Jazz X belonging to a fellow bhpian with odo of 17500km. The car was in pretty good condition visually and mechanically except for couple of scratches on both the bumpers and few blemish on the doors.
His price was 5.9 lakhs and my offer was 5.4 (5.5max), he is reluctant. Is that too low an offer, went with a price relative to a Jazz on sale in vellore and carwale's quote for Dealer and excellent condition(max)!
Your advise on a revised quote will be much appreciated.
My requirement is only a Jazz, been in love with it since 2007 when I first saw it in China has Fit and I am in no hurry, not going for a brand new to cutdown on the high depreciation now.
Cheers,
D

Yes, I know, but my father is not happy on spending close to 6lakhs on a used car I will be out of country soon for 6months, so he is asking me to get a new one when I get back.
OTR was 7.4 in June, but i think the price got revised to 7.5+ now..
Cheers.

Thanks for the replies guys. The present on road price of a new i10 kappa2 Magna in Cochin is 4.55 lakhs after all the discounts. So I was expecting around 3.25L for my 1.5 year old i10 with 16000kms on the odo. After checking out with some brokers and used car dealers they gave this price of 3.25L. The buyer(who is a relative of mine) was actually interested in an eon earlier. Then I gave him this offer. If I bargain too much he might go in for an eon. Should I ask for more?? Thanks in advance.

Hello GTX
This is the problem in dealing with friends & relatives. You just dont get too much bargaining power .
3.25L is a fair price. If you are keen, tell the buyer to bear the transfer cost.

Varun

I would be the last person to sell my car to a relative. It is like asking for trouble. Forever they'll expect you to owe a moral responsibility for whatever happens to the car. Just saying as a general observation.

I think you can push for some more cash to individual third party buyers. I sold my 3 year old -old gen i10 for 3.5l. But that was in May before the petrol price hike.

My two cents!

A VW Polo 1.6 run 8000 kms, 2011 asking 5.65L.

A Swift VDI run 19000 kms, 2010 asking 6.15L

Which one?

Edit: Looking at the prices of the same variants when new: The VW Polo 1.6 costs close to 8 OTR, and the Swift VDI retails at 7.4L OTR. Am just getting a lakh and something off on the Swift VDI - doesnt look like good enough value.

frankly this will depend on your requirement. The polo is a petrol while the swift is a diesel.

You will have to prioritize on which fuel type to go for. Plus i think 6.15 is too much for this swift. you should get the swift down to 5.5 lacs.

Yeah the Swift is out because the seller wont negotiate much.

What about the Polo - is that fair?

5.6 i feel is a fair price for the polo. You may try and haggle a bit. But its still a good buy at this price. Go for it

Are you sure? Everybody tells me to avoid the car by a bargepole at this price, so I'm wondering if I am committing harakiri over this deal...since its a PETROL. Thats been discontinued now.

Carwale buffoons estimate this car at 5.2, ofcourse - they're buffoons and I would up it by 25-30k.

What do the others here think?
