The on road price for Mumbai is 19.40L.
Is this a good buy?
I'd say it is a pretty okay deal. Although getting it closer to Rs. 14 L will certainly make it a lot sweeter.

Did you check with the owner as to the reason for selling a 6-month old, hardly run Cruze LTZ AT? You'll find the most commonly offered reason is "relocation". However should he/she say so, do dig deeper if that is indeed the case before proceeding with the deal.

Generally speaking, there are no issues driving a Pune registered car in Mumbai. However if you plan on keeping the car for extended periods of time, it is best to register it under a legit home address (wherever that may be) and avoid any unnecessary headaches. That possible Rs. 75 K shave-off I spoke about above may come in handy here.

I'm assuming the car is in very good condition since you stressed single ownership.

I think you can push for about Rs. 2.5-2.75 Lacs although as a word of caution, high-end stereo systems or alloys don't fetch the kinda premium you'd expect them to. Realistically expect Rs. 20-25 K lesser because the used-car market in Mumbai is such.

I think Jignesh will be able to give a better estimate on this one considering he drives a WagonR himself.

Jiggy - your thoughts please.

Spare from the first-set
Not involved in accidents (adorned with dings and scratches, though)
5 alloys (dont remember the brand, but have receipts at home)

Hello Ad75,
4L for a model that has been long from the market is way too high, that too done 70000 kms.
The max value should be around 2.75-3L,not a penny more.
Hope this helps,
Varun

Folks!

Need some help. What do you think is the realistic price that I can quote for the below?

Wagon-R AT
  1. Variant : Lxi AT (Automatic)
  2. Model Year: 2007
  3. Kms Done : 17000
  4. Single Owner: Company owned
  5. Insurance : Not renewed since Mar 2012
  6. Service History: Seller claims that he has a detailed service history
  7. Condition of vehicle: No scratches/dents on the outside or blemishes on the inside (as claimed by the seller)
  8. Location: Bangalore; KA registered car

Seller is expecting 3.5 (Non negotiable). Is it worth the price? If not, what is the best price that can be offered?

3.5 L for a 6 yr old Wagon-R without insurance This should go straight to official day dreaming thread !

If I were you I would not pay a penny more than 2.2 L.

AD75, Rs. 4 Lacs for this car is ludicrous! What is this, daylight robbery?!

Remember the Fusion is at least 3 years extinct in India. As an offering it never really took off nor did it exactly set the charts on fire!

Also 70K KM means the car has been given a fair whip which then means it is bound to kick up some considerable maintenance bills in the future. Also that TDCI engine has pretty high NVH levels; at 70K those will be substantial. Ideally steer clear. However if you have to; a fair deal would be in the vicinity of Rs. 2.75 Lacs.

Rs. 17 Lacs is definitely on the north side for the Extreme. Only because it is hardly run and if the car is in really tip-top condition, you could go up to Rs 16 Lacs - otherwise ideally as closer to 15 than 16 would be a fair valuation.

3.5 Lacs is ludicrous again! Plus the car is uninsured!

Perhaps Rs. 2.25-2.5 Lacs if all those claims about the car being scratch-less and blemish-less are true! Not more buddy!

Hello Suzuki san,

You can expect Rs. 2 to Rs. 2.25 lacs for your 2008 Maruti WagonR Vxi with 26000 kms on ODO. User Car Dealers may not offer more than Rs. 2.1 lacs.

Rs. 3.5 lacs? No way. I will not pay more then Rs. 2 lac for this Car. Mainly because AT version car's mileage is on lower side & the car is amost 6 years old. To give you a real example - I bought September 2010 WagonR K10 Vxi for Rs. 3,10,000 in March 2012 & today the Car is not worth more than Rs. 2.8 lacs. Thus expecting Rs. 3.5 lacs for 2007 WagonR AT is even worse than day dreaming.

Hello Rocky Balboa,

Frankly speaking offer of Rs. 3.6 for 2007 Maruti Swift Vdi with 93000 on ODO is a really good offer. If your time & patience permits, you may approach some local used car dealers & they may offer Rs. 10,000 / Rs. 20,000 more than True Value.

Also wish you all the very best for your future car - Duster.

Thanks,

Wow! I was being generous when I said Rs. 2.25-2.5 Lacs. So there you have it buddy; from the experts themselves.

Maut, afraid Rs. 2 Lacs it is; push comes to shove Rs. 2.2. Lacs tops mate! No more.

Regarding my 320d Highline which has done 3000 kms. Most dealers in the NCR are now only offering 25 as their upper limit. Does this mean carwale's valulation of my April 2012 BMW HR registered car is way off the mark or are dealers just generally quoting abysmally low prices for the car?

In this case, unlike the norm, don't think Carwale's evaluation is really off the mark by that much. I think about Rs. 28-29 Lacs is a fair price tag for a 2012 320d Highline which has hardly anything on the odo. Do you have BSI btw - that is a huge plus.

Anyway like I said, these dealers are obviously undervaluing your car to ensure their margins. They are simply hedging. Set a hard limit in your mind (say 27 Lacs) with an understanding that you won't go below that - whatever may be the case. Either you find a buyer for that much or else the car also heads down southward with you.

In case you do sell, what are you planning to replace the E60 with in AP? Because not much point trading a E60 for an F30.

But don't high end cars depreciate really fast? And in this case the model has changed too since. I would say you should consider atleast 15-20% depreciation on what you paid for the car ( even according to the thread on used car prices on the forum). Going by that 25-26L sounds about right for the car if I am not wrong.
