Oops. I am really sorry. I did not read his post properly. This is a seriously low quote then. Just today I was thinking damn these Swift Vdis just dont depreciate.

Well sorry for missing out on the year .. But mine is a december 2010 swift VDI done 46K.. The highest quote so far I got is 3.85.. That's y I was wondering whether I have gotten a fair quote or not ?? In the states you have the concept of Kelly blue book to know the fair value of the car .. Is there anything similar for India ??

Hello,

There is no such concept of standard fair price here in India.

Regarding your December 2010 Swift Vdi with 46,000 on ODO the price of Rs. 3.85 is fair enough if you are selling it to used car dealers.

But I will suggest to find a direct buyer & you can get price of approx Rs. 4.25 to Rs. 4.5 lacs for your car.

Thanks,

I am planning to sell my 2011 Verna CRDI SX(O). Car has clocked 36K, is very clean inside out. The interior is very well maintained and there are no scratches/dents on the exterior. Took it for periodic service last week and had it mechanically inspected by the senior mechanic. He said car is in very good condition.

Need help on the price I can quote. Carwale qoutes around 8.7L to 9L.

What would be a fair price for a 2009 Fusion TDCI in Kerala? Genuine 60K on odo and well maintained.

Hello narayan,
You can expect 3L if you sell to a dealer & 3.25-3.4L is you can find a pvt. buyer.
BTW, what is your expectation?

Varun

Hello MM,
Although I may be wrong here, I think you can easily get around 9.5-9.75L,if not better for your car. I'm not too sure of TVM prices.

Hello jacs,
Any particular reason you're looking at Fusion? It's a car that stopped being produced quite some time back. And prices of such cars vary subject to condition & mileage. The max I would pay for this cart is around 1.75-2L, considering it's South India.

Varun

Yes its LX and currently in Pune, it immediately needs shoe replacement, so 12K for that + few thousand for normal wear and tear repairs will ultimately result 1+

Hi Varun,

You already know the background .

My Accent CRDI is already 10 years old and almost 130,000KMs on odo. But the price I get from selling it versus a new diesel car looks too far from reach now. A Skoda dream is long pending but would have to wait for little more; brain says.

Personally I like Fusion for its practicality. This one is 100% single chaufer driven by a known guy to me who informed about this sale. Expectation is 3L and this would be replaced with a Duster or Ecosport shortly.

My math was if my accents gets little above 1.5L as per Kochi market price as I enquired very recently (Car wale was quoting around 2L ), investing another 1.2 - 1.5L would give peace of mind for another 3 years or so before my Skoda dream comes to reality.

Carwale quoted Rs.3,70,600 for the 2009 Fusion+ TDCI. From your suggestion, can I presume Rs 2,50,000 is a max limit i should pay?

Hi,

Gave up on Ford Fiesta 1.6 SXI due to high petrol running cost.
Now, I have shortlisted two cars finally.

Ritz VXI ABS Petrol - 2012 - 14000kms - 4.5L
Ford Figo Diesel Titanium 2011 - 25000kms - 4.7L

Seeing the running cost difference, I am inclined towards Ford Figo Diesel.
I would like to retain the car for 4yrs and which of them will be better.

I think I have to probably finalize by this weekend.
Coming from SUV comfort to hatchback is sometimes difficult.

Why not just move your vintage preference back by 1-2 years, and get a diesel sedan itself in place of the fiesta?
Just saying.
Else the figo I think is the "eyes closed" choice out of the two.

Hello Blackstallion76,

Given your monthly running of approx 1000 kms, between Ritz Petrol & Ford Figo Diesel the choice is very clear - Ford Figo Diesel.
One more hike on Petrol price is expected next fortnight, which will take the difference Petrol & Diesel prices to almost Rs. 25 per liter.

Thus between petrol & diesel hatchbacks the choice has to be essentially Diesel vehicle.

Thanks,

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Thanks for the advice SUN. Last week, i went along with my friend to see the car and found;

Last service done on 60kms in SVR motors, Bangalore
Exteriors: One minor dent on bonnet, both bumpers have few scratches, left rear window glass not working properly, other than this, its all fine.
Interiors: Neat ,everything in place and working
engine bay: good, some weird sound coming when engine is started and in idle, but goes away when car is in motion. Need to check.
Suspension: Good
Tyres: Satisfactory, can last another 10k

We have quoted 2.2Lac and waiting to hear from them.

Now with cedia discontinued, any idea on how the spares and service could be going forward.

For the vehicle, the KM's are on the lower side - so please get service history checked.

Asking price around 3 lacs is fair for this car if it is in good condition.
However, the road tax will spoil the party somewhat.

Do remember, the spares are expensive and mostly unavailable at the A.S.S. - I have to source them in the outside market or even import them in some cases.

Hello jacs,
Apart from the 1.3L kms on the odo,how is the mechanical condition of the accent?
If the condition is OK as of now, I think, it's better to spend around 50K's & bring the accent to excellent condition. I think even after 2-2.5 years you can sell the accent at around 1-1.25L.

The reason I'm not suggesting the Fusion is because I've heard that the spares are not easily available & are costly, especially body parts & lights. My friend's FIL had a Fusion petrol & this was the case.

This ,I believe will save a lot of money for the Skoda. If you think that the Accent requires more than 50K's, then sell it off for the Fusion.

Whatever the case I don't think the Fusion is worth more than 2.25L.

Regards,
Varun

Hello BS76,
Like Jignesh said,It the Figo!!
Not just because it's cheaper to run,but also because it has AIRBAGS!!!

Varun
