Re: '02 VTEC for 2.5 lakhs?

2.5 lacs for a 2002 model is too high. Its not worth more than 1.25 lacs if in a very good condition. For 2.5 lacs you get more modern and safe cars in NCR. Try looking for a Fiesta 1.6 or a Linea. Both are awesome drivers car and you can get 2007 or above model in your budget. A friend of mine and a BHPian is selling his 09 fiesta for this budget.

Re: '02 VTEC for 2.5 lakhs?

You guys in NCR are so lucky. Good roads, almost zero road tax and to top it dirt cheap used car market. We Bangaloreans pay 15% road tax for shitty roads and sky high rates for used cars

Still see good old vtecs selling for 2.5 - 3lakhs regularly here

Re: '02 VTEC for 2.5 lakhs?

team BHP classifieds?
They're a bit optimistic, especially for cars like the City, fiesta, baleno, basically anything that has been identified as a good driver's car and the likes.
Look around on OLX, I saw quite a few good ones last time I was looking.
And 2.5?
You'll get 2 Citys for that!!

What would be the spares cost?
Any other car I can look for in the same budget?
I wouldn't comment about the price (because of vested interests ) - but I also happen to own a 2001 one.
Done more than a lakh km.

Parts are available easily. Spares are not M800 level cheap but then you won't face the issue so frequently since the car is in general very reliable. (Except for wear and tear parts - you can't help it).

Why don't you visit this thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...ency-more.html to check on what are the typical issues with the City.

Beg to differ my friend, road tax in NCR varies from 4% to 6% depending upon the state of registration. We are equally lucky/unlucky in terms of relocation from North to South or West or vice-versa, being forced to stop and either pay heavy duty challan or additional road tax (and I never heard positive about getting refund from previous state during re-registration).

In KA, you get an overpriced car But then resale price is higher too, where is the loss?

True but the higher initial cost limits one to buy from a segment lower than what could have been possible in lets say NCR region.

Logically correct but I'd seen mostly top end cars in KA or south. E.g people prefer a VDI+ABS in south because of good rains, which is not the case here in NCR

Mercedes Benz C class 200 CGI Avantgarde (petrol) with 35000km on the Odo. Scratchless, but a second owner car. How much should be the price? In Bangalore.

About 18 to 20 lakhs I should imagine. Bangalore has very high resale value.

Is 1.2L a fair price for 2006 Baleno in Chennai? Good condition, repainted last year and clutch replaced 6 months back and regularly serviced at Ignite.

In Hyderabad came across a Honda Accord March 2007 V6 3.0 (Automatic) done 28K. Customer was quoting 6 lakhs and brough the price to 5.5 Lakhs. What would be the fair price? All 4 tyres needs to be replaced, Stepney not used since the car was bought so its new. I told the dealer 4.5Lakhs.

Only 28k KM run, and all 4 tyres already need replacement? Pls give it a thought.
