I bought a Cedia in March of 2008 and now as I have to shift base to another country I have to sell it off. I have done only 10k kms till today and the insurance will be valid till next March. I have spent about 40k for the system and around 30k for the leather seats from stanley..

My main issue is that I had it transferred from my employer to me when I left my previous job, so the RC book shows me as the second owner. Other than that the car is in perfect condition, with every single service mentioned in the book and no dents. There are a few scratched here and there. The color is Silver..

How much do you guys think I should ask for this.

The reason I am looking for cheap old cars is because then I can pay in cash and get the deal done quickly. However reliability, pocket friendly maintenance and peppy-highway friendly nature is what I am looking for.
Does the Esteem fit the bill ?

the moment a new car leaves the showroom with its new owner, it depriciates by 15%.

and you can add another 10% for the first year and you can have your correct price for the 08 model civic.

check the service history of the car with the Honda A.S.S.

12.5 lakh is daylight robbery!

Yep 12.5L is too much for 08 Civic. Best price would be in the range of 9L in Bangalore.. may be 8L in Mumbai.

@Mods please merge with this

What car to buy in 4L budget Used Petrol? Please suggest. I like Getz and Swift. Other than this what else is a good option except zen, wagonR, alto, astar, i10, santro and any of tata's. I dont mind a 30K odo Sedan also. but not older than 2007 or 2006.

How much can I expect for a 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer SLXi? I am offered 1.35 L by a used-car dealer and 1.45L by an individual. Are the numbers making sense?

For sedans, you can get:
[1] Hyundai Accent 2005 in <4L
[2] Ford Ikon 2007-> 3-3.35L ; 2006-> ~ 2.75L (both < 25KM)(If you don't mind saving some present money and getting a good sedan, this is good deal. People will try to scare you about high A.S.S. I do agree that it is *slightly* on a higher side but overall cost would be less)

I will say go for a 2007 ~15-20K KM Ford Ikon Flair for ~3.25 L

When you almost have a budget of 4L and you are planning to buy a used vehicle. I would suggest you buy a new vehicle with this money. Easily you'll be able to buy New SWIFT(Lxi) petrol with this money.
And it's a safer bet

An looking specifically for a L&K Skoda Laura max 2-3 years old.

Saw a few cars but either they were run too much or then the asking price was high.

Recently i have seen a friend's dark blue, mint 2006 DSG, chipped Laura. The asking is 9.5 but i was told i could get it for 8.5. as i know the guy directly. It has nothing extra except a sports grille, some kind of chip (will check if its a Pete's product) and 205, 55 tyres. What say??
