Picture shown in the ad is a base S MT variant not CVT. Price quoted looks high for the same (may be for some room for negotiation).

Yes, my experience (or rather failed one) with them dates back to 2009 when I was on the lookout for a used Swift diesel. Deal got cancelled as we weren't happy with their selling price. IIRC, the proprietor's name is Shiva. They usually stock quality cars but sell at a bit higher than market price. This used to be their ethics, but do not know of the current scenario.

If you happen to head towards that part of the city, do look at Sub5 cars too. Again, the selling price would be more, but the cars would be in mint condition.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi Guys,

I am currently looking for a used car, stumbled upon a used Ford Fiesta (face-lifted) with the following details.

Year : June 2015
Odo reading : 65K
Variant : Titanium
Owner : First
Passing : MH-12

The dealer has quoted 6L, did a price check on few websites and got a price range of 5.15 - 5.45L.

Is is worth to buy this car at the given price? what should be the ideal price of this car provided this model has already been discontinued?

I have a 2014 all new Fiesta and I strongly recommend it. You can certainly negotiate down the price as it has been heavily used with 65k in hardly three years.

Look at the last several posts in the all new fiesta official review thread for my ownership experience and other stuff like android stereo etc that I fitted to it.

Hi all... I have a situation. My current car grand i10 diesel has completed 61500 kms.. I am thinking of lateral upgrade to next car... My car which is 2013 model is getting a value of 3.3 lakhs in exchange with renault duster.. I am doing this in trident renault second hand cars... Duster is 85ps, 2014 model, RxL, 22500 kms only... Quoting price is 7.75 lakhs... Do you think it's a good deal? Inspired by GTO threads on lateral upgrade. Hence trying this option. Your comments will add lot of value in making decision tommorow.

7.75 Lacs for a 2014 85 ps Duster is too steep a price IMHO as dusters resale value isn't that high. I owned one. 6.5 to 6.75 should be the right price. Please check the complete service history and insurance history before taking the final decision on it.

This is from trident used cars.. After hard bargaining they came to 7.4... That's the final amount they have decided.

It could turn out to be a double whammy to you, sell a Grand i10 for less and buy the Duster for a whooping lakh more than its market price.

I would suggest to deal with the situation independently, sell your i10 on your own and simultaneously keep scouting for a Duster. This way you would save atleast a lakh.

Thanks for this sensible advice. I think anyone who is planning to exchange his car with another used car need to keep this in mind before finalizing the deal.

I agree with selling old car independently. Regarding duster pricing, Trident dealer is defending that if he sells for 6.75, there is no room left for his profit. He also defends saying that he is providing 1 year warranty for engine and gearbox.

I agree, since one is purchasing from the OEM, there would be some positives like warranty or free service etc. at a little expense. However, I suggest take a day or two in researching the market before finalizing the price. And if you are CONVINCED that you would not get a similar car at the same price, then you can go ahead as the car has barely done 23k km's(is it a test drive car?).

The renault k9k is known for its robustness, it could easily do 3-4 lakh km's if maintained well ( courtesy: Mahindra logan airport cabs ). So, even well maintained Dusters with slightly higher mileage and proper service history can also be considered.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

A Vento TSI Highline DSG is available at my neighbourhood in Kerala for 7 lacs. The car is 3 years 10 months old and has run just 12,000 km. Couple is questions:
1. DQ200 gearbox is notorious for it reliability here as well as outside. What would be an approximate estimate for replacement?
2. Is this a good price ? OBV quotes around 6.4 lacs for the same model. Considering the reliability part, what would be the a better price for the buyer ?
