for 70-80k you get a 2004 good condition corsa royale, my wife wanted to learn driving so thought of picking it up but 40k is a bit high price in the present condition as the denting painting alone would cost 30k+ and those bumpers and tail/head lamps will cost another 5-10k.

What can be expected for a Dec-2003 NHC, 82,000kms genuine, well maintained? (With leather seats, nice alloy wheels and full service history).
Cheers,

Wanted to share this experience:

Saw this Ad y'day:
Maruti Suzuki Alto, Cars, Maruti Suzuki, Alto, 2005, Silver, LTT & Insurance Paid

I called the 'owner' and spoke.
- He says he is the second owner, whereas the Ad says 'first owner'.
- Asked for best price and he straightaway reduced 20k.
- Happens to be LX model. When I said I was looking for Power steering, he says he can install PS for me. He says he has a mechanic friend who can convert LX into LXI.

This is a clear sign of a small time car dealer rather than the owner. Stay away from him.

Car - Maruti 800 DX 5 Speed MPFI with AC
Model - July 2000, White color
Condition - Good
Mileage - 89500 Kms
Accesories/Fittings - Sony Explod stereo with pioneer speakers, 1 year old battery and new pair of bridgestone S322 tyres.
Imminent work - Suspension overhaul required, Clutch having play, Paint job required as paint peeling from bonnet , side doors and few other places

Requested for 60K, Got the car sold for 53K. True value quoted 35->40K while Mahindra True value quoted 30K. What do you think about the price I got - was it good, fair or bad?

^^ If this was in Delhi then I think you got a pretty good price for the kind of vehicle you have described.

Since long I have been hunting for a Zen in Bangalore.

Guys, what do you think of this deal?

- Zen 2003 LXI BS2, 2 owners, 83000kms.
-- Engine, Gear, AC and Body are in excellent condition.
-- Cassette player and FM system with 4 speakers.
-- Sold by Maruti TrueValue after the so called 120-point checks and repairs.
-- 6 months warranty and 3 free services.

--- Quoted price = 1.75 lakhs.

Everything looks fine, but personally i feel the 83k is a little too high, but if you are sure the engine is good, go for it. The price also seems to be a little on the higher side, but from my own experience i know the prices quoted for Zen's are always a little crazy..!

Too expensive for a 7 year old Zen. should not exceed 1.5L.

If you are planning to keep the car for atleast 5-6 years, I would suggest you wait till the new Fiesta hits the road so that you can bargain hard on the current fiesta model.
After looking hard, far and near, online and offline and not finding any good deals, and against the advise of a few members of this forum, I finally bought the demo TD car 2008 Fiesta 1.6S Aquarius Blue in excellent (dealer maintained) condition with around 15K kms for around Rs. 5.8L OTR all inclusive (incl LT/Reg/Ins) with me to be shown (yet to be registered) as 1st owner on RC. Also got the dealer to agree for a detailing job to remove all scratches and a teflon coating after that.

Been driving it for a couple of weeks now and no problems so far (hope it stays that way) except for an insatiable urge in my brain to floor the pedal on any open road!
