A 2 year old Diesel Ritz will surely give you more than 4 in Bangalore..3.5 is way too low I feel.

The car had done 60k kms and gives a FE of 14. Also, on the exterior there are some dents and that would cost around 20K for repairs.
What could be the expected sale price?
I would say around 1.5-1.75 considering that you have to spend at least 20k to start with.

The reason I said 3.5 was because I have seen a great quality Ritz VDI + ABS Nov 2009 go for 3.4 in Hyd . May be it was an exception case and I should not have posted it based on 1 sale.
Also Ritz does not hold its value as much as the Swift. For a 2 year old swift VDI + ABS I have seen vehicles go as much as 4.2lacs in Hyd.
But thanks a lot for the correction.
And I am extremely sorry about sending out the wrong information. I think you can expect about 4 lacs for it.

Hello,
Looking for my 1st car. Considering Alto 1.1 or Original Zen. (like the santro too but there are many reports about expensive maintanance)
Recently got a quote as below:
1. Alto vx 1.1, 2001, 56k for 1.15 lac.
2. Alto vx 1.1, 2003, unknown, 1.30 lac.
3. Zen, 2006, unknown, 1.75 lac.

Car no 1.was in OK condition. Needed some service & body work.
Other cars are quoted by a service centre guy. He was not recollecting trim & odo.

What do you think should be good value for these?
Also which Santro models are good solid & reliable? The Older ones with round headlamps or the ones with rectangular ones?
Whats the difference?
How are maintanance/ service costs?

I was told today by a colleague that his friend recently sold a 2006 yr Zen in v. Good condition @ only 1.1 lac. :( guess too late now.
Afterall luck does matters.

Warm regards,
O_M

Close your eyes and go for the Zen. It's newer than the other two. It looks better than the other too. It's cooler than the other two as well. Parts are cheap as of now. And it'll be a collector's item in the near future. The way the Zen market is right now, maybe you'll get more money when you sell it off. Think about it.

Grand Vitara

Hi,

I am getting a Suzuki Grand Vitara - 2007 model, done 35K, White Color, Non Accidental, Sigle owner and Good service history for 5L. The owner sells his cars after 3-4 years of use.

Should I go ahead with the deal? Maruti Showroom warned me about the costly spares and availability as they are directly imported from Japan.

Isn't that a terribly low price for the grand vitara?

That is all it will fetch, being in a category where there are very less takers. IF the car is in good shape (Get it verified by a trusted mech), go for it.

I guess but to me,5l seems under valued.
Anyway,it makes a great buy if the car is in good shape. I'd suggest you take it to a Maruti A.S.S and ask for a comprehensive report. They'll charge you an amount but It's well worth it.

Hi Friends,
need yr urgent advice.
I'm buying a Ford Fusion TDCI (not plus) dec 2007 which has around 33k on the odo.
I'm sending the car to the workshop today to get it checked especially the mileage bit if its genuine. It will cost me 3.75L all inclusive including fresh comprehensive insurance.
However, i'm concerned about the maintenance bit and the cost of spares.
I plan to keep the car for 3 years with around 18k per year of running.
The car's engine was in good shape and was handling well.

It's a very good car. Maybe you can bring it down to 3.5 inclusive of the comprehensive insurance given that it's an out of production car (yet it shares few parts with Fiesta classic). If you do go for it, then you are getting yourself a great car on the roads of Mumbai. Superb ground clearance. Good mileage. Good engine. It hardly has anything on the odo. Great for weekend getaways.

Thanks for the quick reply. Will check out its condition.
Also it will be great if some hyundai owner can answer my other query related to Hyundai a.s.s & also the better Santro between round headlamps & rectangular ones.
(I read in wikipedia that the older Santros had 998cc epsilon engines but with 110nm of torque, while as later on they were replaced by 1064 cc epsilons with around 92nm of torque?) I am not recollecting the exacts figures but, is it that significant?
how much will be good price for 4-6yrs old facelifted (rectangular headlamp) santro?

Thanks in advance.

Anyway, keep searching and I'm sure you'll find another one.

Posting this on behalf of a friend, he's got a budget of 2L tops and he is fixated on Getz.
He's from Bombay so he's looking at car from here.
I've never driven the Getz so have no idea what to look for when going to have a look.

With this budget what vintage Getz can he realistically expect?

Thanks in advance.
