Our current family car is a 2006 Skoda Laura L&K 1.9 DSG which has been with us for the past 4 years. Today, one of my acquaintance dropped by and on chatting with him, he told me that he was going abroad and was looking to sell his car before he leaves - a 2011 facelift Skoda Laura L&K DSG (the one with the 2.0 common rail unit). Now this got me thinking and now I am tempted to sell our car and get his (manly because of the better economy and NVH of the common rail motor).

I haven't the slightest clue on what would be a fair price to quote for his car. It's done over 80,000 KM and is in very good condition, with full service history.

Also, what figure should I be looking at if I plan to sell my car? It's crossed 99,000KM on the ODO - I'm the 2nd owner and it's in immaculate shape - never given any us trouble, apart from a faulty air con compressor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: The 2011 Laura I am looking at is on it's 3rd ownership now, and I would be the 4th if I buy it - should this factor in the negotiations?

What ZDi? Swift at that point is way too much.

For 8,56 k, u can have a new DZire in Chennai, u must be talking about the SX4?
Where did the alloys go? The SX4 looks much better with alloys then without them. Its a good car, if you really like it and this one is well maintained, you can go for it, but as they don't command good resale value, you should try for getting it some 50k lower at least.

Are you asking about Ertiga? That is the only ZDi Maruti I know where alloys were optional. Please mention that car you are looking for!

Thanks. Just wanted to know, are the official price checks updated to reflect current parity in fuel pricing? For example I did check the Vento petrol vs diesel price difference, and there seemed to be a huge difference of more than 1.2 lakh in the petrol comfortline vs diesel trendline base model. This difference is significantly over and above the ex-showroom price.

The first one needs no introduction~ 1.75 L kms, the car is neck deep in grave. And the second one ~ i have seen my uncle do this very same mistake 3 years back. I can bet 90% of Accent crdi s will have a rigged odo, and to top it off a low life engine. I have never seen one going past 1.5 L kms without a engine overhaul + it still doesn't work even if get the overhaul done by spending close to a lakh and don't get me started on the turbo now.

You need a serious rethink on this issue. Better dump the idea, and both the cars, or you will be dumping your 1.7 L cash down the drain.

Thanks for the inputs which put some sense into my mind. Can any one suggest which diesel car can I expect for 1.75k? That is the maximum budget I have.
