Knock further off the price if you are expected to re-register the vehicle in Kerala after paying a fresh life tax for the Thar.

Or if you have a TN address you're best advised to register the thar within TN and do frequent trips to TN to establish proof such as toll receipts should any RTO or traffic cop enquire.

Hi guys, my neighbor is planning to sell his 2011 Chevrolet cruze ltz manual diesel car which has run about 65000kms. Its the top end version with sunroof. Its in good shape overall. He is the 2nd owner. Its Karnataka registered. What price can he expect ? Dealers are quoting 6-6.5 lakh. Is that pricing ok ? I see online ads for 8 lakh and above for a 2011 cruze.

IMO the dealers will be quoting lesser than 6, more in the range of 5. Cruze has a low resale. Selling it directly to the buyer, he may get 6.5 at best. Online ads pricing is a joke in many cases in Bangalore, I don't know when people will learn here. You get a 2011 Laura for less than 8.

+1. It is the same everywhere in India. I have seen sellers over quote by 2-3 lakhs and then tag with "Not negotiable" in mangled english.
In such cases, I feel it is embarrassing to even call and negotiate to realistic prices.

Guys, what is a fair price for:
1) KA-reg, 2007 Camry AT with 70k on the ODO. I feel 6 Lakhs quoted is too much for a 10 year old car. Or is it acceptable by Bangalore standards?

2) KA-reg, 2006-2008 Sonata Embera AT.

3) Kizashi CVT prices in general; can't seem to find one in Bangalore. DL prices on the interwebs around 4.5-6L. Is that fair?

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Been a long time lurker and enjoyed many hours of browsing various threads. Finally been bitten by SUV bug and in particular been looking at the Pajero Sport.

Have found a self owned 2013 model (pre anniversary edition), have few questions -

1. What's the right price for such a car? Has few dinks and is in average shape. He's asking for 16L but it seems very high because of average condition and the fact that diesels have a reduced life of 10 yrs which leaves less than 7 years on this car.
2. Owner was frank enough to tell me he had an accident with a (slow moving) truck (which led to some of the dinks and also damaged the bull guard at back). Is there any way to double check what happened and how much damage etc? Repairs were done at auth showroom and he claimed warranty iirc.
3. Clutch is super hard - not sure if this is regular clutch in Pajeros or if this cars' has excessive wear? Anyway to check?
4. Anyway to check how much off-roading car has actually done?
5. Anything specific to be careful of with Pajero sports of this vintage? Parts liable to fail etc?
6. Can someone refer me to a good mechanic / service center which can do a thorough evaluation / health check of the car?
7. Finally, in terms of clutch hardness, how do the following compare - Scorpio, safari, duster, pajero sports and fortuner. Asking coz I plan to use this for my daily commute to Gurgaon from delhi (20 odd kms)

Know am being greedy with the questions (and not totally sure if this is the right thread even), but any help would be much appreciated.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Have a competent mechanic inspect the car!!

Any car that has been rear ended by a truck, however slow, and then patched up, will not feel pleasant to drive - hard clutch, jolting suspension, car pulling to the left or right possibly - that'll all be there.

Dings on the body can be tinkered or painted out for the most part and if there has been extensive damage, even after tinkering there will be a few dents and dings.

If you want a soft and responsive clutch stick to buying a honda or something of the sort. Any larger vehicle will not have as responsive a clutch, but it certainly won't be "super hard" either.

Any off roading use will reflect in the underbody having more than the usual number of scratches, wheel wall rubbers cut about by flying stones etc etc.

My advice is - as the guy already admitted he had a rear ending incident, move on and find a different vehicle.

What would be the right price for a October 2013 Toyota Corolla Altis (VL AT), Haryana registered and being sold in Delhi with 29,000 click on the odometer? The price quoted is 10.35 lakhs which looks steep.

Experts?

Anyone knows if it's ok to pick a 2010-2011 Nano? Just need it for city trips of less than 10kms. What should be the price for reasonably maintained model with AC?

Pick up a power steering version. I guess 2010/2011 models are not having power steering. Price should be reasonable around 1lakhs to 1.15 lakhs.

Just to give you an idea I picked up an August 2014 Nano Twist XT in June 2016 for 1.5L in pune. The car is under extended warranty upto 2018. It had done 4.5k kms. This was in pune. I suggest you look for the the twist as it offers power steering which makes a lot of difference.

Hello All

I request expert help in determining the right selling price for my Ford Fiesta S (yes you read it correct). Any help will be highly appreciated -

Mine is a May 2010 Ford Fiesta S (Petrol Duratec) in Chill Metallic color registered and used in Bangalore. It has done around 31000 KM. Except for rear parking sensor car is in stock condition. Bought it on company lease and later got it transferred to my name so although it has been exclusively owned and driven by me but technically I am the second owner.

In the month of Aug 2016 got a brand new Battery and brand new front 2 tyres. All originals.

Except for minor scratches (primarily on bumper) no history of any crashes.

Condition - I can bet you that you will not find a better maintained Fiesta (leave aside Fiesta S ).

I feel looking at Bangalore market 2.5 lakhs should be a reasonable price.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Thanks @hserus. Dropped the Pajero
Now considering a 50k, 2011 Honda CR-V @ 10.5L and 31k 2014 1.8 Octavia (warranty till 2018) @ 14L, both thru dealer.
Any suggestions on what to look out for (stuff which is more liable to give repair bills) on either of these?

Hope to check these out later this week.

Thanks!

Hi All,

What is the good price for a 2012 Rapid Ambition Plus TDI with 20K kms on the ODO. The vehicle is serviced at vinayaka skoda and has Neo Alloy wheels with stock apollo tyres, reverse camera with an additional display in the left corner of the dash. Also with art leather seat covers and spoiler on the boot.
