That's a lot. Alto doesn't command premium in used car market, unlike swift or dzire. You should knock off atleast 20% as 1st year depreciation.

Thanks guys. I had checked with dealership by phone prior posting and was quoted 5.11OTR. post your reply depreciation looks just10% and hence giving it a pass.

Anytime, the knocked down price was ~ 17%, but still, 4.25 for a Alto, not worth it buddy.

If Automatic is not a must -

I shall go a step further and suggest a Grand i10, Era, for you, it retails a shade more than the price that you are looking at, after taking into consideration that there are ~ 80K discounts that have been running on it, if you can live without a few luxuries (PW etc) that the Vxi would offer.

Grand i10 is a way way more accomplished product, if you get good discounts, checkout the Magna as well.

Go for it, if you shall retain it for a longer term and a new car is a new car.

For entry level AMT automatic hatches like Alto, Nano etc, is car outside warranty any cause of concern? I am looking at low mileage cars only and hence guessing that it should be fine.

There has not been any discussion about price yet, since the seller is a very good friend of mine. What would be a fair price for the car, somewhere in the middle of what a dealer would buy the car for and what he would sell it for...?
