Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Sold my 9 year old Linea (Emotion Pack Diesel) to an individual for slightly more than 25% of then on road price.

Bought a one year old 5th gen Honda City Petrol ZX CVT (Oct 2020 Mfd and Nov 2020 Reg) for about 4 lakhs less than current OTR.

My apologies. Thanks for the correction.
Wrongly read it as '25% more than'. You know, human psychology

Need help from NCR folks -

I am looking for a Celerio or a small car without CNG. Being a outsiders, I have no local contacts and i realise going to a dealer is fraught with risk of being cheated without a reference. Any clues will be appreciate for a reliable used car dealer or local ref willing to sell. my PM is open.

@mod - Pls delete if not appropriate.

I think the safest bet would be Maruti True Value. You'll get warranty if it's under 6 years as well. But, as with most used cars, you'll have to do your regular checks and verify service records.

Thanks a ton for the response. I did explored true value outlets but found them to be horribly over prices for what they offer. yes, i do get the 6 months warranty part but still they are trying to sell me a 5 years old car for 75% of today,s price.

I sold my VX PS MPFI 2000 Esteem for INR 40000. Did not want to but it was lying around gathering dust and with the lock down, storage was becoming a problem. I was the third owner and the car was in ok condition. It had run 1.6 lakh kilometers. Since your car is a 2005, it would mean it is type 3 and provided the kilometers and condition are all good i would say anything close to 90k to 100k would be a great price. Don't look at orange book prices because they will quote next to nothing. Thankfully there are enough fans of the car in Bangalore and you should get a decent price.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

My cousin is looking to buy a Fortuner 2010 model, Single owner, 40K Kms driven (genuine as verified from ASC) in Kerala.

Asking price is 12.5 Lakhs.

1. What is a good price to quote?
2. Is it a risk to buy 12 year old diesel vehicle in Kerala (any NGT rules that might come soon across the country?)
3. Anything specific to look out in 2010 Fortuner models?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

What would be a fair price for a 2005 Maruti Swift Lxi run 69k kms.
The car has run mainly in city limits and has been serviced annually through the A.S.S.

The car is in average condition since there are dents and scratches all over and mechanically couple of parts have to be replaced, which is not major work.

It has insurance until Oct 2022 and it had 45% NCB in the last renewal. He's offering it for 8 Lakhs. This is in Bengaluru.
Now, I was not even thinking of BMW 5 series till today. I was looking for something new and better than the City.
He sent me a video of the car, and it looks to be in a decent shape. I still have to visit and check it out in person. But, it's got my mind going bonkers. I had a BMW 3 series at the back of my mind. But this was unexpected.

Is 8L a decent price for a one owner 520d in Bengaluru?
I know it's late reply, I have been windowshoping bmw for sometime,
out of curiosity - did you buy the car?
Possible to share details of the dealer to better understand the BMW range in pre-owned market.

Hey! No, I didn’t end up buying the car. Honestly it was a really good car, but then I just gave it a bit more thought and realised that it was too big for my use (only me in the car 99% of the time). And my old City already used to peek out of my parking spot which I found uncomfortable. Having a 5 series poking out would give me nightmares. Would’ve had to rent a new place.
And it also wasn’t the desirable 530d. I’m still looking out for a goo deal on a 320d

I will share the dealer’s contact here as I couldn’t PM you and your email option was disabled. His name is Siddiq. His shop is about 300m from EGL Tech Park ( https://goo.gl/maps/L6MM9LscqR5Zye1G8 ) and he is reachable on 9739999307. Found him trustworthy, in my opinion.

(Mods please remove the last paragraph if its considered against the rules)

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Slightly OT post.
Is it advisable to buy used ford cars right now?
I’ve always loved the ecosport and quite a lot of pristine examples are available at attractive price in my city.
I want to keep the car for next 4-5 years.
Would there be any issues related to spare parts in near future?
