Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

my choice was between,
VW POLO
VW Vento

my vote goes to vento. I drive NHC and i felt, if VW after sales service is good then VENTO is the product which can compete with NHC. If VW customer service and reliability reviews come out good, I may buy vento next year. Waiting for more ownership reviews for vento.

I test driven vento and polo and i liked both cars allot. Just not yet sure about german engineering after seeing lots of scary skoda stories.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Picked the Figo. Drove one couple of days back, and the ride is second only to the Polo, and handling is top notch. Space better than most of the small car, interiors are OK, boot space is very good and seats are comfortable.
I was tempted to vote for the Aria , but the Figos VFM offering is really hard to "Beat".

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

My Vote - ford Figo.
They created quite a good overall package with the figo. the price point has made it a very good VFM deal.
Decent mileage, good diesel mill and loaded with safety measures shows the makings of a good car.
I loved the ride quality, handling and it not being too hard on the wallet.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Figo- A truly value for money car. A car that can potentially change Ford's perception in India and also force the company to improve A5S.

58,000+ sales is a great number in a market filled with hatchbacks.

Looks like a walkover for Figo, don't see anything change now on the poll. Will be interesting to see second place, aria is getting many votes!

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Though i own a Figo, voted for polo as that has bought a premium, much popular worldwide offering to indian customers. Figo has been a game changer for Ford but has eaten into its own sales of Fiesta i feel hence more of a fresher choice than a totally new entrant.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Quite surprising to see the response gathered by Polo. I was expecting a close fight with the Figo. I guess the sibling with boot is eating into Polo's numbers

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Out of more than 12900 views of the thread and more than 63000 members on the forum, there are not even 1000 votes for the poll.
Hope that this thread will pick up and more members will vote to make the results of the poll really meaningful .
P.S : just saw that out of more than 8400 people online and surfing the forum, there are only around 500 members who are logged in . :( .

I am hoping Aria gets the second place atleast.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Just cant believe it, Figo is having such a field day with the scores, I thought it was going to be a close fight with the Vento / Polo siblings. But it was not so.
The lead of Figo is far better than what Nano had enjoyed last time (Nano was around 22% ahead, compared to Figo which is around 26%) It would be interesting to see if the lead contiues).

One small observation, the three sensations for last year which lead the COTY all flunked by 2010 end. I am talking about the Nano (well almost), Punto and the Linea.
It would be interesting to see the trend by end of 2011 to see if Figo will continue its dream run.

One more point, the only so call success of last year was the launches made in the SUV and Premiun C segment. (Fortuner and Cruze) ranked 4th and 5th respectively.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Figo has clearly taken away the accolades this time. Even my vote went to Figo.

It would be interesting to see the battle for 2nd & 3rd place. Aria/Vento are going heard to head, for 2nd place my vote would go to Aria for the extremely commendable job Tata has done with it.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Voted for the Aria after considering the Figo. Reason being that although the Figo does a lot of things right, the missing rear power windows is major miss for me, and the extremely low stance also not to my preference. The Figo doesn't really break new ground, just has a more drivable diesel engine than the competition, has reasonably more space than most of it and is priced competitively.

Aria on the other hand truly breaks new ground, IMHO. This might not translate into stellar sales, but it is still a great car at a great (relative) price.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Voted for Etios. I think the car has been launched quite late in the year to make enough impressions. I could not digest the looks, but the overall package seems to be very good.
