looks pretty good to me. I heard even the boot is cavernous compared to competition except ocatvia's notch.

And as long as the Civic doesn't get here, it'll hold up pretty nicely in the market. And 10.5 lacs would put it in the Optra, Octavia, Elantra and the Corolla league. Tough competition i would say....
I think a fully loaded car at this price beats corolla as even the base version corolla is more expensive. Octy too is expensive. Dunno about elantra and optra.

I certainly think cedia is competitive.

I dont think so. the Aluminium and carbon finish in the sports should looks pretty good. I think the mob cam's lens dont do justice

It is spacious, far more than an oct! But when it comes to boot, oct rules. And the sales guy promises 10kmpl with ac inside city. What more?

Oh the seat for teh sport one is for raceheads.

Interiors of the Elegance are better then the Sports version.

I really dont feel so. With the way mitsubishi are going i really doubt. They are not publisizing it too much and the car doesnot even have Climate Control, heck, even a swift and Baleno have it today.

Only the baleno and swift have it below c segment. Baleno needs climate control to sell and our swift is one of the newest product hence the features.

and being cheaper than optra, corolla base model and octavia I certainly think that lack of climate control can be forgiven.

If this is true then I wonder who wont be ready to sacrifice a bit of power when compared to corolla.

Interiors sure are not as good as the optra but I think they pretty much rule over corolla and elantra. The carbon and aluminium finish may not show in pics here but It certainly feels way more nice. same goes for the wood, beige leather finish in elegance.I do miss the leather in sports version though.

certainly the boot of octavia is going to be more spacious with the car being a notchback but is the boot bigger compared to optra, elantra and corolla?

and by seat for the raceheads, do you mean recaro seats? if yes then move aside corolla.

I actually felt that the rear is much better than the front.ithe grille would be much better if completely in black without the body coloured part on which the mitsubishi logo is stuck

I certainly expected more from HM.

honestly as good as the car the old 1.5 lancer has been this one doesnt seem to live upto the mark.

Dunno what future it holds.

I dunno where the project od redoingthe old lancer has reached.

this website www.indiacar.com (go to tech specs) shows the lancer evolution IX under the mitsubishi motors stable .

2 liter , 280PS . DOHC MIVEC 16 Valve Intercooled with Magnesium compressor and titanium turbine Turbocharger.

god knows why its included , cause this surely isn't for sale in india

p.s:if only it were

Have not been much into details but by doing A comparo I found this out.

I chose base corolla H1 which is prices closest to lancer cedia.

Cedia is better in these departments

cheaper- 9.87 fully loaded compared to 9.89 for base model
bigger engine- 1999cc compared to 1794cc
Excellent torque- 175nm@4250rpm compared to 158m@4200RPM (same RPM)
better interiors- wood/carbon & titanium console compared to plain in corolla
luxurious interiors- Italian leather interiors compared to fabric
smaller turning radius- 4.9m comapred to 5.1m
longer- 4595mm comapred to 4530mm
better ground clearance- 175mm compared to 170mm
robust & solid build- 1210kg compared to 1160kg (same case- 1.5 v/s City)

Corolla is better in these departments

Better engine setup- DOHC compared to SOHC in Cedia.
better horsepower- 125ps@6000 compared to 115ps@5250(note diff RPM)
wider- 1705 comapred to 1695
better comfort- lumbar support(supposedly absent in cedia)

both have
15" Alloy wheels
cedia has 32bit microprecessor but I dunno if it should be counted
corolla boasts vvti but I dunno if that should be counted
dual airbags
ABS with EBD
front ventilated and rear solid disc brakes
195/60 R15 Tubeless radials
wheelbase is same at 2600mm
Electronic mirror controls
headlamp levelling devices
driver side pockets
spacious boot

Confused

low slung- cedia 1455mm compared to corolla 1490mm. Sporty people may like cedia while families may like corolla on this.

Overall it looks like cedia is a better car by specs.
FE, ride and handling differs from person to person.

stats taken from www.toyotabharat.com and lancercedia.in

Saw plenty of these in Singapore - some modded - I think if the pricing was reduced, it woulf be a key contender
