I have seen 5 of them

I stay in Bangalore and i am a HUUUGE !!!! Lancer freak. I have seen 5 of them so far. 3 Red's on the same day and 2 Yellow's different days. They look beautiful ( Simply the name as the implies) But still I love the lancer that was hot during 96----2001

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

they havent advertised the cedia well and they should have completely removed the lancer from their showrooms.also HM made a big mistake with the specs of the cedia.the car anyways looks very unattractive moreso after the launch of the civic.they should have targeted the honda city category rather than the corolla, optra category.and going into the 10lac category with a naturally aspirated engine is stupid.comparing it with cars which have VVTi(toyota),TDi(octavia)....it was bound to have less power and less mileage.also with that rallying pedigree behind it ,there are bound to be comparisons...
point being the car doesnt have a well defined USP,it tries to be a jack of all trades and master of none.
Till now have just seen two cedias in noida/delhi....one in the elegance trim and the other in the sport trim.HM is stil l rather than taking evasive action(like price reduction)

I have seen quite a few down here in Chennai.

Maybe it is because of the poor marketing.

Cedia select now at vtec price.

HM brings in new lancer cedia Select for 9.09

Now its excellent vfm compared to the Honda City vtec.

Looks like cedia is here to stay.

Thats exclusive of road tax etc. And do anyone haev any specs about that model?

As the Cedia Elegance/Sport cost 10.43lac OTR here, Select should cost 9.65lac OTR here approx. Vtec was 8.9lac or so OTR

I've seen a few Cedias on our roads. I think the main reason for not this car not doing too well is its outdated look. Add to that poor marketing and very few dealerships and you have a recipe for disaster. Take the Prabhadevi area of Mumbai as an example. You have Fiat, Ford, Skoda, Tata, Hyundai, Honda and Mercedes Benz showrooms and a Maruti service station - all within a range of roughly 1km. Why have HM-Mitsubishi not done anything about it?

Enlighten me!

Gang, have any of you driven the Cedia for more than say 75-100kms or so? If so, how is the car in the following aspects...

1. Peppy or not?
2. Is the braking good or bad?
3. How is the low speed handling and the high speed handling?

I really don't want to ask for a test drive as I'm focused on the vRS (Inshah Krishanji, Allah, Jesus Christ, Buddha and Wahe Guru) im getting, but would love to know these three things about the Cedia from someone who has driven this car at both low and high speeds.... Thanks in advance.

Not driven one but been driven around in one and have sat in the cockpit. A friend of mine has the OZ rally edition here. From my experience and All the reviews the common strengths and weaknesses are.

cedia is not all about the engine but a lot more.

1. Highest torque in the segment meaning shiftfree rides. add to that the lowest turning radius.
2. Approx .5-1.0 secs slower to a corolla is peppy enough I guess.
3. cedia has the best stopping power and is more safer cars.
4. handling is much much better than corolla or civic.
5. Black aluminium and carbon fiber dash and visible dials that dont divert attention like in civic and corolla.
6. Canadian mags rated the gearshift on lancer better than the corolla and civic.
7. Not even a civic beats the Fun to drive factor. Hence their tagline which says "Driven to thrill".
8. NO othercar looks as sexy from the rear. Neither optra nor Civic.
9. One of the best steering feedbacks.
10. Anti-Roll bar for your hard cornering needs.
11. All-round visibility one of the best in the segment.

Now the sad part.

1. Fuel efficiency only behind corolla and civic.
2. The sports doesnt get 2.4 MiveC
3. Interior while really durable lacks kit unlike Optra.
4. Elegance beaten in looks by optra and sports by Civic
5. HM is the biggest drag to this otherwise good model.
6. lowest power figures in the segment.
7. Seating is low in the rear and tall people may find it a bit uncomfortable.
8. lacks climatronic which should be a strict nono in this segment.

and now with cedia select starting at 9.09. get one add some turbo power and zooom!!! you go.

70K more for the cedia is still a steal.

you are getting a bigger car which is a segment higher with a more powerful engine.

I guess mods can join this thread to the existing cedia thread.

NOTE : THREADS MERGED

Any idea what the CEDIA select has been stripped off to get to this price?

The website dosent provide tech specs for the select.

Dunno, I too landed on the website by accident.

but it sure is better value than most cars in the segment at this price considering they have not stripped it much.

A lack of leather is something I can live with but lack of ABS with EBD and airbags would suck.

Good one Dev. That was quite funny. Knowing HM what they are Civics 18th gen will be here and still no signs of new Lancer what a pity.

That canadian and indian versions are poles apart. The india is highly detuned BEAST.

And thats surely will be lack of safety features. They are trying to enter a very calmed down Optra/City segment.

LM*O. Nope I didnt mean the launch of New lancer in India but N.America. I recently saw the concept and boy does it rock.

In India I expect the two lancers and cedias to be on sale until the new lancer comes out and is at the end of the product lifecycle which is HM's strength. LOL

About the cedia select features, it was just my guess. It is also possible that we may only loose leather at best or some minor changes.

can somebody check it out with the dealer on this? Also some sales figures would be nice.
