Car Magazines Car of the Year is...

Just received my UK edition of CAR - These guys are normally hypercritical

Top 10 werethe

Alfa 159
New Renault Clio
Range Rover Sport
Jag XJD
Honda Civic
Merc S Class
BMW 3
Toyota Aygo
Lexus 400Rh

..and the winner is the Suzuki Swift

Some quotes

Well put together
Looks fantastic
"Recognition that this particular car is so good"
Stands out in a class which has high standards yet it does - does not aim to be superior in any area but by being good in all areas and by not getting its priorities tangled

Only critcism is the boot!!!

Well done Suzuki/ Maruti for giving us something class leading- am sure this will feature in CAR India

All the UK car magazines praised Swift for its look, engine and agile characteristics. At around £7500 it is very competively priced - no other cars offer 91 bhp engine at this price.

This is probably the first time an Indian (AFAIK a good part of Swift design was done India) car got such overwhelming response!
