Be it an SUV or not, a crossover or estate, the X1 looks aggressive enough to eat 'em all on the road ! A fantastic looker & IMO the 'combo' look is gonna be a winner in the Indian market : we do love all-rounders more than specialists.

That's the press car which overdrive used in their tv show, i think the number is 0482, its the cool elegance trim.

I guess the deliveries have begun. I spotted one on-road in Cochin today. Same color as in Sidindica's TD report.

^^ Deliveries for X1 highline have already started, those who have booked the the 20d CE will have to wait for 3-5 months for their X1. Highline variants are readily available here.

Apparently the highline or any of the models are no where on the horizon in pune...bah...i hate the waiting!

The Indian auto industry should be really proud to take pole position in the whole wide world (yes, other than estwhile communist regimes) in the period of waiting they offer their customers.

Can anyone please confirm if the petrol version[or the 20d ce] has the corona rings? My dealer doesnt really know[he 'thinks' it has them...grrrr!]. If you can take a pic and upload it, that would be totally awesome.

Im in 2 minds about the executive vs ce, as i got to know today that the ce version also comes with (bluetooth) handsfree [not 100% sure but atleast thats what the dealer says]. The spec sheet only says "Hands free facility" can anyone shed more light on the matter?

I test drove the Exclusive today and it was TOTALLY awesome.

Here's a quick summary:
1. Ride is firm and the ride height is actually pretty good
Theres a good deal of bite in the suspension so you WILL feel our Indian Moon craters. Cornering though will be amazing.

2. Im 6,3 and found a comfortable ride height without a problem

3. Visibility is great, the car literally wraps around you. Very nimble in the city

4. Steering is heavy at standstill but is comfortable once you start driving

5. Gearbox is pretty responsive and shifts down well. Not electric but is pretty quick.

6. There are LOADS of power on tap at virtually any rev level[20d] and you just dont realize when you hit tripple digit speeds. In the short drive i had i hit 130 without even noticing it.

7. Noticed that the TD car had a ridiculous FE figure of 8.3kpl...lol....i doubt i was the only one flooring it

8. Seats are very comfortable and the panoramic sunroof makes the cabin feel very airy, especially for people in the back

9. Brakes are very responsive, cut speed down effortlessly.

^^ CE comes with Halogen corona rings i.e Yellowish shade and the higher version gets bluish white LED style(Not sure if they are indeed LED) corona rings.

just to reconfirm, there are NO corona rings on the CE. I would have taken the CE if it had the coronas. Sad but true :(

I booked in Jan and they promised the car in May, they are now saying that it will be here in June!!!! Im really tired of waiting. Can anyone shed some light on this?! Is this normal for a new BMW launch? Has anyone else booked the car on TeamBHP?

We have booked in March for 20d, told the waiting period is 6 months. No option but to wait.

Sorry for posting the wrong information earlier, X1 CE does not come with corona rings.
