BMW X1 launched at 22 lakhs! Details on pg. 7!

X1 is rear wheel drive ( 2wd ) and no 4X4 option .
X1 is AT, SF has 2wd and 4wd options _ Manual Tranny. So SF is my favourite over X1.

I simple drool when a Bimmer passes by... be it the 3 series, 7 or the stunning Z4. I dont give the Merc or Audi a second look unless its a SLK or R8!

BMWs carry a certain aura & exclusivity about it that the competition lacks. Right from the headlights to the taillights to the alloys to the cabin, everything in a BMW is stylish & reeks class & appeal.

One day, I will own a Z4 & drive it top down in Marine Drive with the stereo playing "Munni Badnaam Hui" at full blast! I am sure that will be a head turner!

Equally, lets not forget that the Santa Fe is a CBU, while X1 (customer vehicles) and the Fortuner are CKDs. The road tax & registration on CBUs is substantially more than for the CKDs. yep, just saw the X1 TD car, and i must say it looks beautiful in flesh. You cannot compare this with the Yeti. Yeti in person looks nothing more than a slightly overgrown hatch.

GTO, agreed. But then again, this is bad call from Hyundai than anything else. Whats the point in brining this car as a CBU when there's enough CKD competition. It will just drive the point that Hyundai cannot beat Jap competitors when it comes to higher end products.

Not sure about your state but here in Haryana we pay road tax based on the slab which is decided by price of the car. It does not matter whether the car CBU, CKD or Locally manufactured. AFAIK the additional tax which is levied of CBU cars is included in the ex-showroom price.

We got to watch and see the sales report..

I think X1 will be seen like captivas and ford endeavors on the street because of its low price and the badge.

Just booked the car today!....Highline with all the bells and whistles, in Black

Waiting period is something like 3 months, but better early than later

The competition IMO for the x1 are the 3series, C class and the A4 NOT the Fortuner.

People who want an all out 4x4 will still go out and buy the forturner or one of those machines. The x1 for me is the perfect blend of saloon,softroader and urban commuter.

black grill---yes
chrome grill--- no option
body kit is standard
