Thanks.My bad. I missed that.
Going by the trend, will fortuner and vento pick up sales, if there is smooth supply vs demand option?

Or is it now a fancy,to get one, as these are not easily available?

Certainly, it is not the only Fiat 500 in India.

If you check the 'Exotic cars in Mumbai thread', you will come across some random Fiat 500s.

I've spotted two Fiat 500s in Kerala itself.

Re: December 2010 : Indian Car Sales Figures

Logan sales has improved during december due to price reduction. Two of my friends booked and got it cancelled due to non-availability of the vehicle.
The same old story of Fiat continues. The company lives on its engine sales..

GTO i didnt get this? has FIGO actually sold more than 1880? how can it go down from 5400 mark to 1800 in a month?

The sales from factory to delearship is 1880,i guess according to GTO the sales from dealership to customers is 6000.

The 1880 number must be because of plant maintainance or something.

Initially I also was shocked seeing that. But then I guess its due to the fact it is year end and its quite normal to have poor sales. But GTO, why is that Figo/Indigo etc sales fall to 1/5th and Maruti has only a very slight change? Is it that for Maruti cars people dont even look at year end!!!

This should be due to long waiting lists. People who would have booked cars in Oct/Nov 2010, would be getting deliveries now. And these shipment to dealers would serve those deliveries.

I am confused here. Why are we considering the Retail figures for the Ford Figo & Manufacturer to the Dealer Figures for every other Car Brand ?

In the whole thread, the figures are from the Manufacturers to Dealer, then why only take Retail figures of Figo.

Re: December 2010 : Indian Car Sales Figures

Absolutely, The actual sales is 1880 only and rest has been accounted already in the previous month figures. May be a case of dealers building inventory anticipating demand in the preceding months. All those 2010 models may be sold out in Dec with discounts and freebies effectively reducing the factory to dealer sales.

Sir, we are not considering the retail (secondary) figures of Figo at all.As the primary sales figures of Figo were measly 1881 in December, many of us were trying to solve the mystery as to why these numbers dropped suddenly from 5k+.

This was the same case with Fiat also.

Ford had a plant shut down. Since I was palnning to buy a 2011 manufactured Figo, I was told that since there was a plant shut down by Ford, I may have to wait for 4-8 weeks to get a vehicle of my choice. That would have meant no year end discounts, a higher registration charge, ( haryana has raised car regn charges) and possibly a higher price for the car on account of an impending price increase.

Preponed my purchase and went for a white Figo TDCI ( Titanium) with total freebies worth approx Rs. 13000

Plant shut down = lower production = lower primary despatches to dealers

We surely AREN'T! The main discussion still revolves around the 1,800 odd number.

read the first post of this thread, you will know what all was needed to own a Palio after it was discontinued. You can't own a new Diesel Palio anymore.
