Doesn't seem to have any other changes than the one launched in Malaysia.
Only hope they bring in the 2.0l euro spec d-4d(highly unlikely).
And also the 7spd a/t and the 1.6 to fight the City segment.

Nice scoop recompose, we can notice few changes to rear lights and front grille apart from that I am unable to notice any other changes. Interior more or less looks the same except the silver cover on the steering.

I would love to hear some information about the engine, can someone throw light in to it??

Is it only me who feels the grill is too Etios-ish? I just love the grill of the diesel Altis, wish they would have given the same here.

Could't tell if it was a diesel and I couldnt hear the car running (If that even makes a difference for the Corolla). The only thing the guy conceded was that it was the Corolla (D uh moment), and its ETA (3-4 months). I must have had TBHP written all over me once the camera got out, and he vanished

My 1 question,

Why are toyota guys testing this car so extensively ? Is there a new engine

The changes i see are
- Front Bumper - Completely different (the air intake is inverted) with a different shape for fog lamps
- Side Indicator is new (Possibly it is the new D-4D labeling)
- New Rear Combination Lamps
- The rear Chrome lip is wider (longer - more closer to the rear combination lamps)
- Rear reflectors are different (earlier circular)

The gear stick "looks" like the one from the Oil Burner (Look closely into the last photo, you would see 6 gears with (R) on the extreme left ))

Does this means Corolla D is getting a new Diesel Engine, other why should they test a facelift extensively?

Inspite of the engine upgrade and sportier external looks, the interiors does not seem to be changed.

I caught this near Bidadi a couple of hours earlier, while driving towards Bangalore. The car joined the Mysore road only for a while and then turned right.

Isn't the front grill quite close to the one in Etios - the slight slant downwards. The chrome lining at the rear extends so much longer - to ends of both rear lamps.

As I see it, the plastic area surrounding the fog lamps and below the grill is almost the same as the earlier one. I wish for a car that price, they could do something better with that; eg. like no plastic around the fog lamps in ANHC.

Also, the door seem to be bland at the bottom, right - no linings.

Any news on whether there's a new engine - for Petrol or Diesel?

The Corolla looks sharper now. Could do with smarter alloys. A bigger diesel in the offing?

Finally the interior wood inserts look like a darker shade and matte finish. This will work nicely.

New petrol engine? Must be the 1.6l that will take the fight to ANHC.
But the one that direly needs a new engine is the diesel.
C'mon Toyota, bring on the 2.0D.
