City does it again

Honda Seil Cars India’s (HSCI) New Honda City continues to make otherwise wary customers want to purchase cars. The company saw a sales growth of 47.83% selling 5,579 (4,739 of which were Honda City) cars in February this year over 3,774 cars in February 2008

source:Auto sales grow in Feb but industry outlook still bleak

PS: Now Honda will never get off their high horse. Expect prices to increase and forget VFM.

well, with numbers like this they don't have a reason to! I must say i am quite surprised at the numbers - seems like ANHC is selling more than NHC now.

Wonder how's the Linea doing?

Seems goodwill created by NHC is rubbing off on ANHC !!!

I am daily seeing newly deliverd NHC's in pune . ( with temp numbers , har's etc ). The city number is ANHC+ NHC both.

But still I am also seeing good number of ANHC.

So We will come to know the actual number of ANHC when all the NHC's are sold.

good point. Yes, they are still selling NHCs. And i believe they still have a good stock too, since i see the ads for them still. However i would think they many not be more than 20% of the sales, i guess.

I think NHC production stopped in Sep 08. Dealers are offering deals on the few models they have.

What are the numbers for Skoda? Would be interesting to know if people are trading off the super hatch and the uber super sedan to the normal hatch and normal sedans!

I think 20% is too much for a prediction, my dealer has almost cleared his stock. I think 10% would be more realistic. But i think most of the stocks should clear by this month.

Just got the Linea figures out. Got in touch with a Fiat official. He said the Linea sold 1262 in February.
I Thought it would be better than January. I hope Linea sales increases next month.

Just spoke to the Manager (Customer Services) Fiat, they sold 1262 Lineas in Feb'2009.
He said there was a huge demand for Emotion+ model which was unexpected, they had to procure additional imported parts from Italy and hence there was some delays in delivery.
Things are getting streamlined now and in the coming months, delivery will happen faster.
