Things are getting streamlined now and in the coming months, delivery will happen faster.
Thanks Finneyp, Thats actaully not bad considering a lot of folks screaming from the top of the building about Fiat A.S.S. Over time people are going to be booking Linea's after they understand the exp of existing Linea customers.

Well, those numbers have already dropped from previous month. It would be good to wait for Vasudeva's numbers for all cars to see if that is the case for many of them!

Does any one have Maruti A-Star numbers ? I hardly see 3-4 cars in bangalore roads since its launch 3 months back. Is it going in ZEN Estilo way?

Very true, so far I have seen only 3 A-Stars on road in bangalore. I have seen more Xylos than A-stars

I think the A-Star is not selling much (production bottlenecks or lack of demand??). Considering that is priced at around Rs. 3lakhs, it should be seen more. I do see an A-star once every few days, and that says something about a ~3 lakh car.

I also dont see as many A-stars as I would have expected to. It does not seem to have taken off well.

@vasudeva, are you sure about the price of A-star being 3L ? From what I heard it was closer to 4L and above it for top variants. And I was guessing that wrong (high) pricing was what did it in.

BTW, where are the sales figures for Feb ? Many are curious to see how the Linea has done.

OK, my mistake at saying ~3L, when it is higher. But even at higher figures, it is in Santro territory, and seeing 1-2 cars a week is not much.

The data is not yet published and so wait till next week.

If Linea sold as much as noted above, then it is the segment leader for the second month running. Some people do want to put it in fully loaded Getz/I20 segment though.

Seeing the number of Lineas on TBHP. I doubt the 1262 figure - its should be more.

With its price, if Linea is not the D-segment leader, then its a dishonor for Fiat.

Could be due to Linea in its segment, which has captured the crown

Sales for Feb 2009 is here:

Am in a hurry, so no analysis. Only key point: huge recovery in 2/2009 in car segment. UV segment still in the doldrums.

Over the entire auto sector, except for commercial vehicles, recovery evident in 2/2009 with growth in double digits compared with declines during Aug/Sep to Jan.

1. look at figures for Palio, Fabia, and Optra.
2. before someone beats me to it, Dzire leads in mid-size, and Linea in executive. Maruti now whipping Hyundai and Tata in compact.
3. huge jump in Laura sales.
