also one more intersting thing is ford is maintaining quite a good numbers through out.. not impressive but steady !

does HM mean ambassodor and cedia or just cedia ? 544 is a ok number.. better than GM
Please refer vasudev's xls. Maruti has registered -2.3% from 2007 to 2008 where as Hyundai has registered 26% growth.

The growth we've seen in Hyundai sales was mainly due to exports, not by domestic sales.

Though bigger than i10, i20 doesn't have the road presence of a Swift. i20 looks better on paper than on road! And the looks are in such a way that it gets bored sooner than a Swift / Fabia.

Finally saw a i20 on the road today, and my opinion is that Getz looks a lot better. Maybe the eye will get used to it (like the City).

I heard it was being phased out, so more discounts probably !
On the contrary, offers such as free insurance etc. available on Fiesta are not available on Fusion, and the phasing out news has not held water either.
Interesting to see the relatively strong sales trend of Fusion, though!

I have been a GM customer and their machine is sending SMS to all customers of years past.
Hey Vasudev, would like toe know if these are sales to customers or dealers ???

cheers,

No way of knowing that for GM or for any of the others.

Did you notice that Maruti sold a grand total of 1 Grand Vitara in 2/2009.

Linea leads the "executive" segment. Poor folks, it is still being compared to the likes of i10... .

Linea spottings for me have become quite regular now. There was a beige Linea driving alongwith me on Tuesday at about 8 pm. I just realised that the instrument lights are red / orangish. I thought they would be green. IMO beige is the most ugly colour. Doesn't suit the car at all.

I understand that an ardent fan wants to talk about his faith, but IMHO talk of Linea's interiors in sales thread is woefully out of place. Maybe this post need to be moved to a different thread.

These are dealer sales figures, or as the trade calls it, 'wholesale' figures. A senior guy in GM told me that it is very difficult to track 'retail' or direct customer sales as that would involve tracking RTO registrations etc.

100% spurious statement. In this age of computers, surely dealers have online and up-to-the-minute tracking of sales and RTO registrations. GM would surely be knowing how much they have received in rupee terms. If the GM statement is correct, no wonder they are bankrupt. Do not even know how much they have sold.
