Sure, but its human nature to upgrade to something a little better. M800 gives best mileage, but people are upgrading to Zens and Santros etc.

But Alto gets 5 speed gearbox while M800 has only 4 speed one.
5 speed M800 is not sold anymore.

What carwale. I drove the 800 from 1995-99, and used to get 17 kmpl on a non-MPFI engine.

Eagerly awaiting the November Excel sheet. There must have been a boom in sales due to diwali.
December I guess will be a slack season as usual.

Very difficult to know.

Since, you will get only the combined figures. And the difference over last month will also include the newly launched i10.

GM has said in a statement that it has reported a whopping 110 per cent jump in its domestic sales during November at 5,356 units against 2,554 units in the same month last year. The sales comprised 1,703 units of MUV Chevrolet Tavera, 1,670 units of sedan and hatchback Chevrolet Aveo and Aveo U-VA, 557 units of the luxury sedan Chevrolet Optra and 1,426 units of its small car Chevrolet Spark. Also said that the consistent surge in monthly sales is a clear indication of the success of all our carlines and demonstrates the fact that our flagship brand Chevrolet has been well accepted by the market and is growing from strength to strength.

The truth is that sales growth has declined for comparable products (GM launched Spark only in 2007). This may be true for all manufacturers (as numbers expected to be out next week shall prove) and hence the need for higher spin.

GM says that the consistent surge in monthly sales is a clear indication of the success of all our carlines, blah blah.

Hardly anything consistent in these actual figures for last 5 months, which demonstrate a sharp decline in Nov 07 (remember Oct 07 was festive month):

July: 4570; Aug: 5817; Sep: 5751; Oct: 6139; Nov: 5356.

Car sales down from 4370 in oct to 3653 in nov. Tavera sales down from 1769 to 1703.
