Would be interesting to see how year-end/Jan auto-expo effect has on the sales.

TATA should be up as it had huge discounts going for it.

Scorpio and Logan sale has come down for dec. 2007, they could sell Logan around 1500 units and 2700 odd scorpios I feel.

Price increase except for Logan (Logan price increase happened in dec. 2007 already) is expected in 1 week.

Regards,

Ravi.

As it was expected after December 07 we will find the growth percentage in A2 segment to slow down this is because of higher base effect. Estillo was launched in Nov 06 and Swift diesel was launched in Jan 07. The sales from January 08 will now compare with the same models the company had in Jan07.Because of this we will see the growth to slow down from Jan 08 onwards in the A2 segment.

Watch out for the exports space, in FY 06-07 Maruti exported 39295 units however Till Dec FY07 -08 Maruti has exported 37990 units.
IN 2008-09 Maruti Is expecting to export 150000 units to Europe and 50000 units to non Europe countries.

Came across this article on Fiat sales in India post their tie up with tata.

Quoting from the article:

Quote:
In 2006-07, the first full financial year since the two companies came together, only 2,208 units of Fiat Palio were sold in the country.
Quote:
in the first eight months of the current fiscal, 2,319 units of Fiat cars were sold in India, growing 39 per cent over the same period last year
Quote:
There is also the issue of customer perception. What does Tata stand for and what does Fiat stand for? There is a need for positioning the products correctly,” he added.
Quote:
The joint venture will also manufacture the Grande Punto and the Linea, Fiat’s successful 1.3 litre multi-jet diesel engine, its 1.2 and 1.4 litre Fire gasoline engine and matching transmissions,” said a Fiat India spokesperson.

Might be the bookings that dealers have already taken.

I think Santro has gone down by almost same amount as i10 has come up.

In case of kerala, i10 is becoming very much popular, compared to Spark and the likes. Can't believe that i10 sales are dull.

Honda seriously needs to get the new City. It has been going down.
Come to think of it, Honda has taken quite a double digit beating (YoY and MoM) in all its offerings.(City, Civic, Accord). Any clues whats happening?
So looks like Elantra has finally been given the farewell?
