Actually Skoda sold 282 Octavia and Laura, and 13 Superbs. It also managed to sell 206 Fabia. From being last in this segment for many months, Fiat has now relinquished its position to Fabia and Fusion as noted by you.

Over the last 5 years, this was the worst month ever for Optra, Octavia, and Camry, and 800.

Not a bad start. Even at bad times, they managed to sell 4363 units. Also Honda is leading in Executive and Premium and holding second position in mid-size
Looks like after Maruti, Honda is the only manufacturer surviving this bad climate in India.

I suspect, the sales is still coming from NHC and not AHNC. Has Honda completely discontinued selling NHC now?

In Oct-08, Honda's mid-size sale was only 707 units. This was purely from NHC.
But the new figure 4363 in Nov-08 should be at least 80-90% from ANHC.
Thats what the numbers tell us

Forget the numbers, I am seeing a greater no. of new City on roads. However, as of now, this high no is prelim (dealer inventory?) and overall trend could be available only in 1-2 mths.

I agree with you on this.
I haven't seen many ANHC on road in Bangalore yet.
I guess the only launch that could take away some of the ANHC share will be the Fiat Linea. Or some more price cut by other manufacturers.

The other way of looking at it is, people who delayed their NHC purchase in Oct, buying it in Nov after seeing the car in person and evaluating the features & prices of ANHC in Oct

So Skoda is selling less that 500 vehicles now per month, combining Fabia+octy+Laura+Superb. And i have a suspicion its only going to get a lot worse.

Interesting Ford beat Huyndai in C segment. Ikon D effect - but still less that what i thought it would be. I was expecting them to cross 3K.

In a way this slowdown is good it will force companies to get back to make & deliver what customer wants instead of presuming the customer needs . I think we should see a greater focus on After Sales service and prviding VFM deals instead of craps like Prestige Value , European Build , German Humour , French Design etc...

Any figures for the A-Star? I haven't seen a single owner registered car on Mumbai roads yet.

Surprised to see Altis falling behind Civic in just 3 months of its launch. The figures are now similar to old Corolla models in previous months. Is it purely because of slowdown or are there any IQ issues with the car? I hear quite a few from some of my friends including brakes and suspension issues.

New Ford Ikon seems to have helped them to remain positive in sales growth for Nov 08.

Altis Falling back should not be a great surprise technically / mechaniccally it is the same car as old Toyota . Difference is definitely not that from NHC to ANHC so results shall also be the same .

Don't forget that Honda sold 100 units of the Hybrid after the huge Rs.8 lac discounts. Remove that and Civic sales are about 362 units.
