Hi, it would be good if you can also name the cars under each brand and segment. Sometimes, I get confused whether Civic is in D segment or C Segment, or how to read Honda D segment sales - only Accord or Civic and Accord. In the latter case, what would be Civic sales figures.

I guess a major reason for drop in sales is Lacl of availability of finance for purchase of cars . With recession on one will see consolidation towards more VFM cars instead of percieved Prestige Brands . I specially see a huge drop in Skoda no.s as at least in Gurgaon it is a car of Property Dealers

I guess only property dealers (with their reputation) have the money or the muscle to deal with Skoda service and costs.

Overall, the industry should be in a bad shape for 200809. Good thing is that steel and other inputs are also declining. Some relief for decent drivers (like me?) who have to wrestle with call centre drivers on Delhi-Gurgaon.

really,if its possible do post it

do you know the sales of MAN,VOLVO AMW,Tatra ,TATA novus?

This is expected. You can also see that in US the SUV market is falling drastically. We can see more decline. Company started shutting down the factory temporarily. Economy is not at all in right position.
On top of that this Company wanna have huge margin on profit. Where the common man will go. Either stop dreaming else settle for less.

"The company’s sales of passenger vehicles in November 2008 in the domestic market were 14,327 nos., a decline of 12% compared to 16,322 vehicles sold in November last year. The Indica range sales at 9,039 nos. declined by 13.8% over last November despite orders in hand which could not be converted into sales due to lack of financing in the market, but held close to October 2008 level of 9,484 nos. The Indigo range with sales of 3,477 nos., reported a 73% growth over November 2007. Car sales of 12,516 nos. between the Indica and the Indigo range in the month of November 2008 are marginally up, compared to car sales of 12,502 nos. in November 2007, continuing the growth uptrend registered for the first time this fiscal in October 2008. The Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 1,811 nos., a decline of 52.6% compared to November 2007. The UV/SUV segment in the industry continues to be under pressure in the market since the July ad hoc imposition of an additional element of excise duty on vehicles having engine displacement of over 1.5 litre."
