Well 80% of those sales would be DeZire and most of it diesel. I dont think Verna can be pitted against it. Accent can - but they killed the Accent CRDi to stop cannibalizing the Verna. time to do a Ford, Huyndai?

actually 1521, from that link 1700 is including Palio. But still a great start for a company which used to sell in the low hundereds for the last 4 years. As soemone noted in a different thread - things can get better from here.

IIRC most dealers dont have much stock of Verna as it is expecting a facelift. Would like to know how much SX4 alone is selling!

I think there are 2 reasons for linea not yet overshadowing ANHC.

1. Fiat image has something to do with this. So they are telling people to wait and generate excitement.

2. The actualy sales if good should show in march/april.

Is Fiat doing something similar to Palio production numbers? Hope they are not manufacturing less numbers keeping their target modest.

Both Linea and City sales may cool down owing to economy.

The Honda city nos are not that great , come to think of it. On an average the previous city used to sell between 2500 and 3000 every month. The delalers have been collecting advances for 3 months, so I am sure this number is largely because of backlog orders in the pipeline.

The Civic has been on the slide for a long time now, but seems to be stabilizing around the 500 mark these days? A far cry from the halycon days.

The Accord nos seem to be a little down as well.

Fiat sales are impressive. Hope they image is getting better and people are willing to take the plunge in their dirn.

They got the recession on their side which can act like a positive as they got a car which has more features and also softer on the pocket.

Honda city numbers are shocking. Thats a fairly good number. Am impressed

I've seen quite a few here in Chennai , even managed to click a pic of one. The car looks like a painted breadbox on wheels.

As one can easily infer from long term monthly data, sold in the Indian market and with official figures may not mean sold to the customer. It could usually be despatch from factory also.

Usually Honda sales are posted by some one else. Surprise to see another member taking the lead this month.

Slowly starting to see ANHCs in Chennai, but no Linea yet. Noticed a Xylo in Chennai suburbs yesterday.. was more like Sumo Grande!

This comment reminds me that the Fiat 1100 model from 1955 to 1959 with the rounded boot (Dickey) was called the Duker model (pig model) and today the same looks is called cute.

So i guess pigs can be cute but not the xylo (even after another 50 years.)
