Optra sales lower than August

I thought the diesel Optra was well received...

Good to see Skoda sales dipping.
Laura is just Octavia 2 and they should not be selling the Octavia 1 alongside.

It comes at no surprise to me . The dealers are very rude and are not offering a single rupee discount(espically on the Laura) . Its hard to believe that a car that is 2 years old in the local market is selling without a penny discount ... .

I fully agree.
Dealers are pathetic, and the company is careless.
forget discounts, they are not offering even a test drive...

In team-bhp!

The majority of the rest don't care about the performance it offers. Sad to see a good product with good pricing finding it hard in the market!

They should borrow Octy's body.
I think it's the skin deep beauty that's lacking...

The low resale value and brand image may be the major causes hampering its offtake. Is there any supply side constraint on the Optra Mag?

In Delhi I have seen a precious few...

A friend recently test drove it around.. Has to be a specific dealer. Report him to the company is what should be done.

SX4 outsold NHC again in August. 31xx units for SX4 compared to 30xx units for NHC.

How many Octavia's were sold compared to Optra Magnum? Is it safe to conclude that the Magnum has flopped?

Can you post the link where you find it? I hope MUL site gives sum of units sold for SX4+Esteem+Baleno.

Also, is there any breakup of SX4 Vxi Vs ZXi? Anyways Zxi will be significant.

Point to note is that NHC units are for all variants - Exi, Gxi and VTEC, SX4 ZXi (if majority over Vxi) outsold all these variants !!

So, Accent + Verna = 4402

Wonder how much of that sales comes from the accent.

Also, SX4 + Baleno + Esteem = 4885

Suddenly Verna doesn't seem to be a failure after all. It seems to doing pretty well.

It's in the latest issue of Autocar India. I am not sure if the figures are for August or September though.

Interesting figures of Honda too. CR-V outsold Accord! Civic sales are still holding strong. Looks like the suspension issue is either not known to prospective buyers or it's not a big deal for them or people are still going in for the Civic despite knowing about the issue. What about Corolla? Have their sales increased with the news of the Civic's suspension problem?

I think that it is the news of the new Accord 2008's pending launch that is steering people (including yours truly) away from the Accord.

Civic figures are mindboggling as I was expecting it to clock much lower..

An observation: I was coming to office today morning and in a precious few kms (roundabout 5 - in Gurgaon) I saw 7 SX4's (3 of them red)... The fight is on!!
