Re: Indigo Manza ELAN Face lift; Scoop shots on Page 1

Glad to see they're taking the car upmarket and not down. I am not a fan of those alloys, but I get the feeling that these were chosen to look very different from steel wheels and be immediately identified as alloys. Still, it would have been tons better if they'd offered a couple of options as well. Maybe a sporty 5 spoke design as an alternative?

I hoped that Tata would introduce a lower end model of the Manza, but I guess they don't want to make it too cheap (and taxi-able). The garnishings look good, as do the interiors. I hope the two tone interiors will be available across the range. The new color looks gorgeous in paper. Hope it will look as good in flesh, er...metal.

185/60R15 for the Elan too? I was hoping for fatter rubber and bigger brakes, considering this comes with ABS. And projector lights should have been there too, at least on the high beam.

The alloys in post 1 look really fab. Which version is that?

Re: Indigo Manza ELAN Face lift; Scoop shots on Page 1

Saw this car today at Kulathunkal Motors TVM, when I went to pick up my car from service. It looks awesome in the new tyrian wine shade. It has loads of presence. I thought that the chrome on the fogs might be garish, but it looks great in flesh. The shade of brown in the dash is like dark chocolate. Overall finish has improved. The seats looks good too, the fabric is similar to that on the Chevy Spark, only richer. BTW, I officially change my opinion on the alloys. They are excellent and go well with the overall look. Plus they look fab even when the car is moving. Also loved the door scuff plates.

I wish they'd actually given the car a real face-lift, considering that it now has competition. Personally, I'd have liked to see better tail lamps, ones that extend onto the boot, and some kind of lip spoiler.

I asked them about the price, but they said nothing was revealed till the launch on Monday. The Aura+ QJD is 7.9 OTR for the expensive Pearl White Shade. I expect this to be about 35K more, which would place it at 8.25L OTR in Trivandrum. I'll be asking about it on Monday, and will post the correct price then.

Elan gets an increase of about 40K, other variants about 8-10K. Yet to see the tyrian wine shade.

Traditionally, all the Indigos have had large horizantal stripes in the grill whereas the Indica has had the mesh (honeycomb or rectangular).
Chrome stripe on the top which was first introduced with Indigo was later extended to Indica.

Less chrome, redesigned ORVM's(read bigger) and instrument panel gauges(again bigger) would have been more welcome rather than this 'visit to an accessories shop' type 'face lift'.

Kodos to Sid for the scoop once again.

Thanks for the picture. Color is indeed very nice and goes very well. With alloy wheels and chrome addition it look rich. I was reading this in autocarindia-
Quote:
The new Tata Manza has been competitively priced, starting from Rs 5.14 lakh for the Safire petrol range, while the Quadrajet diesel range starting from Rs 5.91 lakh (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Unfortunately the Price section isnt working. It looks good in the new color though, and the alloys dont looks half as bad as I thought

Wow, fit and finish definitely seems to have improved. As for the next iteration if TML brings in AT transmission and better handling manza would be a very good car.

Another wallpaper of the same shade. That interior with the brinjalish shade doesn't look good to me in that pic..why too much digital enhancement?

Are test drives open yet? Normally with this interior colour, dash reflection should not be a problem right?
As doe the exterior colour for some reason the shades look different on the brochures than they actually are in real life. this is also true for the SX4 at least
