You are right Ravi, the original S1 badges are impossible to find. the supplier too does not have them, his last stock was cleared atleast 8 years back. Guess you remember the story I told you.

Karthik's idea is not to fit them and keep it safely at home so that he can fix them back when S1 becomes a Classic Car. He will then restore it back to originality.
Dear Arun- It seems you want to keep the badges. in that case I would advice you not to remove the badges. Ask Mr. Behram, if he managed to retrieve the badge from his LHD, i wanted them. Once removed they are impossible to fix back.
Even if you manage to get they wont be the original ones and will fade away, ask me I have experienced it. Best option is to tape the badges and get the car coloured.
Im still looking for a badge stating PADMINI with a smaller one attached below stating DELUXE BE
thats what 4035 was....

I was thinking of something and came up with a weird idea. What to do if the PP S1 badges fell off or come out.It is very hard to find industrial strength adhesive to fix it back. Just get hold of 2 small screws and get them welded mildly at back of the badges. Make holes in the boot and fix it with a nut....Voila badges tucked. Can it be done ??

S1 badges wont withstand the welding! It will melt..

Instead you can try sticking the screws to the badges.

Man, the car is looking very good. Is it the same shade which was previously on the car (arctic white)? Good work done to protect the badges. BTW what is the total expenditure on paint and tinkering work.
How much should one pay for a set of green tinted glasses and a rear windshield glass if bought from scrapyard. Are they available in the market.

Yes its Arctic White.

Total cost for painting and tinkering is around 18k.

Green tinted glasses are tough to find. You can pay 1000-1500rs for all.

Samsag: This pic of UK Version S1 should clear all your doubts of exact color shade, the type of side indicator, plastic wheel caps etc.

Thank you very much Mr Arun for this pic. It looks same as our S1 was at one time. Same paint shade (Royal Maroon- Introduction of colored fiats), same wheel covers( I still have 3 of them) of very sturdy plastic, even the same OK and Non polluting vehicle stickers (i still have it on windshield). Although mine didn't had the side repeaters (please refer to post no 178)
Even the plastic on seats have EXPORT marked on them, and original syndicate make wiper blades.
Onething i noted yesterday that the front/rear windshield was Atultuf make and the side ones were of Safex make. Are they original.
BTW in which S1 model did green tinted glasses came (same as karthik's S1).
