I shall upload some more photos later. I had taken lot of photos for upload, but all these were above the permitted size and couldnt be uploaded. So I have to take photos again with lower file size. I got the S1 badges from a nearby spares shop which deals with only Padmini & Amby spares. I couldnt get new Wheel covers, but I enquired with a known scrap dealer and he told me that a S1 has come for scrapping and it has some good condition wheel covers. so I plan to collect it tomorrow, if it's in good condition.

Sirji, just open the pics in Microsoft Picture Manager - Edit - Resize - Select the size like Document large. Simple. Now please upload the pics asap!

Thanks Mr jaisha8 for uploading the pics of your newest acquisition. Looks very neat but what about the wiper & washer system. They seem to have been painted. Get a good set of wiper arms and blades.A suggestion try to source the wiper arms of Ambassador Nova(old model). They are 13" in size as fiat blades (which originally were 14" syndicate ones) are not available in this size. Also why have you put the side repeaters of 800. They don't gel with the overall look of the car. Try to get them replaced with Padmini ones.

@Mehul1100 I think the side mirror is of Maruti SS80. Also the roof gutter trim seems to have been chrome plated along with the C pillar false air vent.

Jaisha, your S1 looks stunning. I loved the pictures, especially the one's with the water droplets on the car. Do post the pics of the interiors.

Jaisha, what a commendable job. One can't compare the 1st few pics to the latest ones.
I'm waiting for the interior pics too.

I thought the S1 used the same old engine with some modification done by AVL, Austria. I recall quite well that it was sold with bucket seats, floor shift gear and sounded a lot different from the 1100D.

You are absolutely right. It has the Nissan transmission. The sound was different because the exhaust manifold had two pipes going to the silencer and also had a catalytic converter.

Thank you for the information. I have a relation in Calicut who has this car. Should probably try and tickle him to sell it. I have traveled in it only once. In my teen years I guess but I had noticed this change in sound & I actually loved it as I own a Fiat 1100D myself. A cat con on a Fiat??? Unbelievable:-)

I also felt this car had better pickup. Guess it probably has to do with the AVL modification and Nissan gear box. I rate it a road rocket compared to the 1100D. The S1 felt as if the engine was on steroids as it used to rev faster & more easily. Is this true? These are observations I made 15 years ago. Just want to know they are true.
