We are finally thinking of selling our old Fiat. Any suggestions about this are welcome, as are responses from individuals interested in purchasing the vehicle.

Can't comment on you decision but would like you to please ensure that it lands in safe hands & is not scrapped (which i highly suppose). Further if the car was in Lucknow i would have definitely helped you in its economical maintenance.
Anyways do update us on this.

PS: Can we have some pictures of the car for reference purposes.

I have not found any buyer yet. Sure hope it doesn't have to be scrapped. But what would be its value?

Re: The lovely Premier Padmini S1 (Fiat 1100-D)

As is the case with any car, value will depend on its condition.

A poorly maintained Padmini can be sold for as low as 10000K-15000K.

A friend of mine did this 6-7 years ago, it was in running condition and was sold off for 8K only.

A well maintained example can be sold for 50000k.

These are my estimates from the experience of having attempted to buy one for a friend of mine 2 years ago.

Sorry for replying late, but just saw your post here. I think yours being a 1991 model will fetch between 14-18000 Rs. depending on the condition of engine, bodywork and papers. From my experience a very good condition car can fetch upto 20,000 and not so desirable ones fetch as low as 8000 which silverado already pointed out.
This is an estimated price based on the recent trend in Kanpur and Lucknow. Its becoming really difficult for any average person to maintain this car (mainly due to unavailability of parts) so there aren't many takers.
Hope this post is somewhat useful to you.

Re: The lovely Premier Padmini S1 (Fiat 1100-D)

One of my friend sold Padmini 1991 model, good tires, new battery and good looking for Rs 12000 to be scrapped even though the papers were in order. He told me that he do not have covered space hence sold it to the hawker who had incidentally offered the H1 price. No one really want the Padmini for keeps.

Darthvader,

Have you found a buyer yet? Please share the pictures of your padmini.

Couple of weeks back I came across a post where someone was looking to buy a Padmini. Not sure whether it was in FB or somewhere else. I will give him the URL to this page if I see/find him again.

Re: The lovely Premier Padmini S1 (Fiat 1100-D)

Hi Fellas:

I just picked up a really nicely kept 94 Padmini for 40k in Chennai. The owner was fastidious about the engine and interior. The body is in fair condition. So from what I gathered in my quest for a 1100d, I think you guys are correct that 20k for a real basket-case and 50k for a really well kept example.

Here are a couple pics:

One is the car as it is now. The other is my resto-mod vision. I know some purists won't like the alloys, but it not like I chucking out the old ones.

Congrats Yankee on the purchase.

I'm sure the purists won't mind you switching to alloys since its not the original PAL wheel cups that you will be replacing . Please go through this link for some inspiration. My vote is for the kind of alloys in the second pic in that link. The more the number of spokes on the wheel, classier your padmini will look.

BTW, is that a petrol/S1/diesel?

Re: The lovely Premier Padmini S1 (Fiat 1100-D)

I noticed that since long there are no posts in this thread and it seems to be dead thread now. Hence I am posting some recent photos of my Padmini which I have still with me and as lovely as before. At this age as well (20 years) she is still turning heads around when we pass busy town.
She also participated in the recent PP meet at Trichur. Also posting some pictures of the same.

Sorry about the low resolution image.it was shot using my phone camera. Though dated 2007 the car is in the exact same condition.
Could you please post interior pics as well? Also if you know from where we can source parts of 67 FIAT 1100D in Kerala? Bumper, Dash etc

Thanks

Re: The lovely Premier Padmini S1 (Fiat 1100-D)

I restored my Padmini after 7 years as it had developed lot of rust patches and due to this the inner body was deteriorating.
It took 2.5 months for complete restoration from the scratch. The engine condition is good, so did not touch the engine at all.
The parts that was difficult to get was the 'Window Winders' & the 'C' Pillar show Panel'.
Rest most of the items I procured locally.

Although some purists may be irked but your car does make a lovely statement! Congrats, she looks like a darling!

Looks like you did not get hold of the C-pillar panel.
