Hi BHPians,

Northern Motorsports is conducting the Maruti Suzuki Autocross 2011 in Noida on 17th and 18th Dec. Details on motorsport.in.

Who all are participating this year? I'm yet to register for this year

Go here Northern Motorsport and follow the registration process.

Rs 1000 for Amateur stock + Rs 600 for the FMSCI license

Rs 1500 for Pro + Rs 600 for the FMSCI license

This is regardless of the category that you want to enroll yourself.

Back again this year with tarmac autocross. Electronic auto timers. Fast curves and tight corners. Special hurdles. And tough competition list.

Autocross would be held on 17th and 18th December at Greater Noida Expo Centre Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!

Classifications are based on make, model, engine capacity, driver type (pro/am).

Usually two drives per entry are permitted to all drivers on Saturday and best of the two time is taken to determine qualifiers for the knock off rounds on Sunday.

Hey guys, QQ - when I'm filling out my form it asks me for my Rally Insurance Cover Number.

I dont have Rally Insurance, so does that mean I cant register?

A brief report.

The entry list, limited to 250, closed few days before the event as there was much demand for slots. Unfortunately we had to turn back about 100 more slots because we simply could not accommodate any more.

A record numbers of 500 races were run on the qualifier Saturday!! Every entry got two laps and best of the two timings was taken for listing the qualifiers who ran in the quarter/semi/finals on Sunday.

The track layout was 60% fast with few 180degree switchbacks. The balance was composed series of quick direction change tight slaloms and chicanes. After the qualifiers the tracks was modified to represent challenge at slightly faster speeds for quarter finals / semi finals. And of course it was further opened up for the finals.

Qualifiers were given two attempts of one lap each. Quarter/semi/finals were of two lap rounds.

The pictures from event would be posted by participants but here are the podium finishers:

Fastest man on the track Phil is in the center of it all. Surprising that the fastest time came in his modified Maruti 800!!!

I was the runner-up in both Amateur Stock Open and Amateur Under 1650cc, below are 3 pictures I found of myself on the track - I may sound a bit immodest, but just that first time in the AutoCross so quite a big deal for me!

Although i missed it this time but have been catching up on the event through the results posted by NM and the participants.

Good job Phil for clocking the fastest time.

I stood First in the Amateur Under 1650 (total participants were 5 in this category) and Second in the Amateur Under 1450 class (total participants were 19 in this category) and. Also I was the second fastest under Amateur category.

Nice Video - except the music should NOT have been there. The sound of the engine & exhaust would have been way better to hear & watch...
