India to have its first national autocross championship

Autocross is one form of motor racing which allows non-professionals (and professionals) to enjoy the thrills of competitive driving in a safe and LOW COST environment. This is a welcome move by FMSCI

Quote:
The 2012 FMSCI motorsport calendar has a new entry in the form of the Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC). Wynnsport are the promoters of this series, along with An Open Mind (AOM). The FMSCI INAC will be held in five cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin and Mumbai with the final round again in Bangalore in December 2012.

Looking forward to the Cochin round. I had missed out on the Dirt Track 2012 held at Cochin last month.

Hey, do you have any details on the event, categories, entry criteria, etc. ?

If you have the SR, please post it up here.

Re: Indian National Autocross Championship

Jalsa, it is on the link that I have posted in my original post. But to summarize -

No separate carb class.
Most classes are open except for head, casing.
No lightening allowed
2 drivers/car allowed
track to run 2 cars simulatenusly

Should be fun and interesting. Thank god you posted, I was wondering if anyone from BHP is even going to drive or all filled with couch racers?

Are you sure about these two things ?
Cause i flipped through the SR and could not find anything mentioned on these lines.

They only related point is that the start line should be wide enough to accommodate 2 cars upto the first bend. Thats it.

Re: Indian National Autocross Championship

Pretty sure Jalsa. At least the first round in BLR is slated to have even a crossover ramp and ROC style side by side driving

2 drivers/car - I thought I saw that on the SR, will recheck and confirm.

Re: India to have its first national autocross championship

The SR and entry form for the first round in Bangalore is up on the INAC webpage.

I'll be surely taking part in the Mumbai event, but not sure about the others. Are there any Bhpians travelling from Mumbai for the Bangalore event? I've been wanting to do more autocross ever since the Automission events but going all the way to Bangalore for one event seems a bit like overkill.

Crossover ramp does sound tempting though

Dont plan for one event, plan for the championship, there are cars getting prepared just for this championship...

Any updates of the Bangalore Event? Pics?
